I am a gradudated senoir from this school. While this school was farely decent, they have failed on many, many, fronts. Arrowhead for one has a diversity problem, Arrowhead is 88% white, while it says Arrowhead has 12% "mixed" it's not factual. While yes it can not be possible to force diversity on race - its not all about race. You could just dress slightly differently and no one will talk to you, and people will make fun of you. Even if you have just DIFFERENT HAIR; I had a middle part for my freshman year, got consistanly made fun of (people refusing to talk to me, calling me emo ((had nothing else different)) ) and it made me feel so bad that I changed my hair. Then senior year it became "normal" so now no one cares. The "different dressing kids" where always bullied and harrassed. But I cannot speak for their experinces.The treatment of the Special Ed kids are beyond baffeling. They have been screamed at, dragged out of rooms, and physically hit. While they want them to "experince" normal classes, it isn't normal. It inhibits the learning of the kids in the class, and they don't usaully do any work. When they do have to do work they obv get help but they don't follow what we did in class. Teachers are always hit or miss. They are either intolorable or complete pushovers. You can get the occasonal good teacher that likes to teach and actually does teach. There are teachers that people try to actively avoid, who I did have, and that teacher is nearly impossible. Making things way harder then it has to be.I could go on and on but the point is that this school is horrible. It doesn't have many offering features. It's sports are great but thats about it.Go to a different school.

Yearbook tea cher is a horrible person. Would pick favorites and if she didn’t like you (even though most did nothing wrong) you would get bullied everyday from her. Had experience with it first hand and other people agreed and felt the same way. She will let her favorites do whatever they want, such as swear, eat, leave the room, and talk whenever they wanted. But if someone she doesn’t like do that, you would get shamed in front of the class by her. Watch out for her, it makes ur day very hard and she loved putting people down. The adv algebra and ams teacher (male) on the other hand is an amazing person. He would make my day better when the other lady put me down. He was so good at teaching and was a person you could trust, witch is how teachers should be. A very supportive, understanding teacher and especially helpful when you don’t understand something. The health room lady is also very kind and helpful, she put health and mental state before school and made me feel safe. Other staff in the office is rude and unprofessional, will talk down on you and loves to prevent you from doing something like looking in the lost and found. Make sure you know and listen to your child when sending them to this school, because it can be very frustrating to go there

This school is very sport-based, I mean that's kind of what it's known for. Despite this, there are TONS of academic opportunities and very diverse course selection options, especially in science (I'm a science-oriented kid so that's definitely awesome :) ). It's obvious that a lot of kids here are upper-middle-class or higher, but a lot of them are very kind, and it doesn't really show all that much. The school isn't very diverse either, but I guess that's a given being in the area that we are in. My teachers were very nice, they honestly showed passion and enjoyment with teaching. Homework and assignments were not very intensive unless you took advanced classes of course, and I believe the teachers and assignments prepared me well for exams n such! Unless you were a trouble maker or you simply didn't care about the school you were graded fairly (although some teachers were far more strict than some other ones that I had). You will do well if you truly work hard. Lastly, I don't know many teachers or kids in the special education programs, but walking down the halls I regularly see students talking to them, and making friends with them! I've never seen a SPED kid get bullied so that's a plus! That's pretty much all I have to say! I definitely recommend this school!

My son with special needs was bullied at this school. The administration did not provide adequate support. I made many requests for help which were unanswered. I would not recommend this school.

Average at best. Their emphasis was on sports. They failed to give credit to those in the arts. Not the best school in the area.

Excellent school! We want our kids to learn, have fun and explore several opportunities that are offered them. Our daughters love Arrowhead High School.

Horrible school! My son's friend was bullied for being disabled, staff did nothing about it! Graduation ceremony is at night- all other schools have day graduations. Family won't be able to attend now because of the long drive - they don't want to get home after midnight. This school is all about vanity. Past winter they have their own snow plows yet they didn't bother plowing half the time. Even the teachers were complaining to the students. Also, the recent bomb threat- kids were finding out from the parents texting them about it, so they removed the kids AFTER letting the parents know about it. Great way to PROTECT the kids! Superintendent needs to GO!!!!! Open enroll to another school like KM!!!!!!

They have rotten cafeteria food, had teachers that actually called all the kids stupid. Charge huge fees for everything and anything. Such as parking. Won't let you have a copy of your own transcripts unofficially, "against policy". Even though you pay to go to school there. Won't let you take half days when you have more than enough credits to graduate. "Against policy". Even though it is NOT required by STATE LAW to attend full days senior year. Teachers are bully, counselors blame their mistakes on kids. HORRIBLE SCHOOL!!! Whole district is bad, bully teachers in elementary and middle school as well.

Obviously if you've always lived in a racially exclusive environment, Hartland is the perfect school. Students and teachers generally respond to 'others' as the general society does....with caution. Whichever way the cultural wind blows, so does the student body. Common sense. I have found that most teachers simply try to teach. I have also found that some administrators are basically mindless support who only understand that the benefit of the doubt goes to the students they 'know' culturally, not the ones they don't.

I am floored by the comments that are being made about AHS. As a lifelong Hartland native who did not come from an affluent family and has siblings that attended all public schools in Hartland growing up, we couldn't have had a better experience. My siblings and I were all very involved in the Drama and Music programs at AHS and had the most positive experiences. The teachers were phenomenal, the environment was welcoming and the education was top notch. It is true that AHS is a "cliquey" school, but aren't all high schools?? While it is situated in an affluent part of the state, which certainly created a diverse economic group, I was never made to feel "inferior" to other students. I may have not had as nice of clothes or a car, but neither did my friends, and that's the same in any high school. We all left and attended UW system schools, on LOANS, and have all become productive members of society who were well prepared for college. The main and only issue I can even identify would be that there is VERY LITTLE cultural diversity. However, if that's the neighborhood you live in, and you choose to live in, then that's what you're signing up for. It's not the school's fault.

My siblings and I graduated from Arrowhead several years ago. I was happy to leave, and have never looked back. Most of my teachers were great (my only reason for the 2 stars), but the attitude and general atmosphere was not diverse. The school sits in a very wealthy part of the state. If you didn't wear the right clothes, own your own car, or have the right hairstyle, you were made fun of and not accepted. There were students who didn't fit in with the mold, and they were outcasts. Special needs kids did not have a place at the school; were made fun of. On one of the last days of school, one of my teachers went around the classroom and asked everyone where they were going to college - just assuming everyone was going. What a joke. My friend and I were the only ones going to a UW School; the rest were going to attend expensive private colleges. I also know there was one other kid in the class who was going to beauty school, but she didn't dare admit it. This school resides in its own bubble and that's how the community wants it. If you want your kids to possess kindness and respect for the world and people around them, do not send them here.

My son (now 20) and daughter (now 16) both attended Arrowhead. Now let me be clear, they aren't the manic athletic types that dominate the school, but they're both very smart. However, the teachers seemed to be outrageously biased in favor of the "sports-freaks" (as my daughter would put it.) my children were all but ignored until my son got a full ride to Duke for his academics. Arrowhead only seems to care about making a name and very little about how they accomplish this. In short, if your child (or yourself) values anything more than how big their muscles are, or how many goals they score on the pitch, don't go to arrowhead. I would suggest University Lake School (full-throttle academics, and the school my daughter transferred to in the middle of 10th grade) or Lake Country Lutheran (a good balance).
