I'm a student Been in this school since sophomore year the school looks nice but the amount of bullying by immature kids is the issue.

I am a student at Hammond Central. They always close the bathrooms on the first floor so I have to go all the way upstairs to go to the bathroom. And then they always close the hallway gate after 5 minutes of the last bell of the day. This school is trash & so are the kids here. These kids are ghetto & unbelievably untrustable. Trust no one in this school it is terrible.

I loved my years at Hammond High School. Like most, I wish I could do it all over again. The teachers really cared that the students understood and were able to take that knowledge into adulthood. Of course, there are students who acted up, but they were dealt with swiftly and fairly. After school programs and activities were abundant and helped students socialize out

Excellent - Caring teachers and administrators challenge students to meet the demands of a 21st century education. Students participate in many after-school activities and demonstrate school spirit.

If you want average this is what you will get. A just because I live in the district and politicians want let me send my child where they will really thrive because of the boundaries restriction aka "silent segregation" within in the state. But I will say the success of this school is driven by the student determination to rise above what life throws at them and has nothing to do withI the leadership or the staff because they are horrible. The leadership and administration conduct themselves as a gang and only they will have a say who survives the on slot of attacks and abuse from students as well as administration. Its all about who knows who therfeore parent must be very vigilant and believe in your child regardless what the administration say. Don't believe them cause they have a circus agenda, them and a belief only the strong survives even though they don't teach anything.

Don't send ur child to hammond high!!!! Ur child WILLNOT be safe at all. The principal isn't on her pees and qs on disciplining children for fighting. How is a child suppose to go to school there confident that nothing will happen to her if she has a fight with one girl, it's videod, ends up going to the hospital and out of school for several days and NOTHING HAPPENS TO These kids. Video over social media and shown to the principal and nothing is done. My impression is the principal doesn't want to deal with the situation at hand and wants to sweep it under the rug. No justice or discipline at HAMMOND HIGH

Despite of the school having bugs crawling around the school and being messy. Most of the teachers do actually care for education while some teachers don't and a few try their best. The school is slowly improving and doing a little better each year. I was a 2013 graduate. I'm going to admit I miss attending the school. I just miss many people throughout the school. But I just hope the School get upgraded around the building. Most desks, computers, and classrooms had gotten a bit of a improvement

I am a current student at Hammond High and the Class of 2016. Hammond High School does to much and it really annoys me. I do not like the school for many reasons. 1. Some of the teachers do too much. 2.Some teacher do be knowing what they be teaching about. 3.They have 3 different lunches(A,B and C). I have C lunch and it is nasty. They always run out of food and it is always cold. 4. They have bugs and never clean the hallways. 5.The restrooms are always NASTY!!! You get what I saying. 6. They treat the "AP Students" better than the others because they are smarter than everyone else. 7. They gave the students tablets for learning, but only do they know it distracts them from learning. 8. While the "AP Students" gets Window 8 Surface Tablets the other students get rip-offs called "Kunos". So every "AP Student" thinks that they are better because the have the other tablets. 9. People in that school instigates to much and are always trying to get people in trouble. 10. There are too many fights and if some is trying to break up the fight others start to jump in. These are the reasons why I don't like Hammond High School.

When I first moved I heard a lot of bad things about Hammond high but once I went there everyone was so inviting and teachers really do teach you and help you out a lot. What I really love is that everyone says Hammond high is one big family it has done nothing bad but improving. Great education great people! The principal Ms.Yander's is a great supporter. She gives us speeches that makes us want to do better. I'm really going to Miss this school when I graduate.
