The school is responsive to both the exceptional and most in need students. Plenty of support staff to assist teachers and the environment is supportive.

50/50 Academically the school is less than what I would prefer. Math curriculum is a slow, geared towards the average and below average students. ELA depends on the teacher. Spelling, for example, is no longer part of the curriculum. What? Advanced students are not challenged and there are no “advanced classes” although there is a Gifted and Talented program. Unfortunately it’s very subjective and your child needs to be recommended, tested and may still not get in because of a small number of students that are allowed to be in it. My daughter has benefited greatly from the GT program but many other students could as well.

the teachers try their best to understand students. They also have a lot of fun clubs for the students, that way they have fun, and they prepare them for the future. Some of the clubs are band and choir, morning fitness, art club, and dance club. They don't only teach them math and reading, but they also teach them how to be a good person, and not what to do. Even though sometimes for them it is not always studying it is also being safe, being the best person you can be , preparing for the future, and having fun.

My son used to goto this school. The curriculum is very behind for 1st graders. Our friend's daughter goes here and her spelling words are something for a 3 yr old. One word was "ant". My son is now in Linwood Seaview and his latest spelling words are "greedy", "reward" "consequence". If you want your children to compete in the real world, I would suggest moving out of this district.
