It was a pleasure to have my daughter at this school! The diversity, inclusion of children with different learning needs, and overall school culture was phenomenal. I appreciate the entire staff for the heart they put into Relay on a daily basis. My son will be there in two years and I’m excited to have him go through Relay.

I was hesitant to send my child to any school in bcps because of the experiences of my older child. I've been very happy with Relay. Communication from the school to parents needs a lot of improvement. Most of the teachers are great and care about the students. I think the curriculum could be adjusted to challenge the higher level students more, but overall the facilities are great and it's a very nice school.

They still boast of successes they had decades ago, prior to the 1980's. I would say it will do as a public school if that is your only option.

I called to get more information on the school and their policies and spoke with the Assistant Principal. She was very rude to me so I can’t imagine how she is to the children if she was that was with me. I will hopefully talk with the principal once he is back.

Great teachers! My daughter is reading at a 3rd grade level in the 1st grade. Mrs. Blood and Mrs. Shinnamon are great!

I am very disappointed in Baltimore County Schools as a whole. Standing in front of a group of unruly children saying “now now friends...it’s time to be quiet” is not setting the bar very high. What is expected of the children as far as behavior is concerned is problematic! I receive phone calls about making sure my child is present for state testing but not when he is bullied...I think BCPS has a one track mind and they are not concerned about children being productive citizens. BCPS seems only concerned about test scores. I am grateful for Mr. Barnett and his presence at Relay. The procedures for drop off and pick up have been a circus!! I think the chaos in the parking lots mirrors the chaos in the classroom. My child has never received any type of positive reinforcement. No sticker on an assignment, no written note, no certificate, no thank you. If your child is a well behaved child with no diagnosed learning disability then they are invisible. My child attended school in another county in Maryland for 3 years and the comparison is stark & bleak! If I had the means to move back I would do it! This is only Elementary School...I can’t even fathom my child attending the nearby Middle or High School! My child’s love for school was snuffed out by the lack of compassion & character from other students and by the lack of enthusiasm and interest from teachers.

Fabulous school. My child transferred from Anne Arundel County with bullying and class disruption being an issue. My child absolutely adores Relay and looks foreword to school every day.

AMAZING place to send your children!!!! The teachers are caring and the work is challenging. I love the new principal ( i think this is her second year) She always stands in the front lobby to greet the children. I stand outside before school everyday and she claps and the children repeat the clap. She then says,"Good morning boys and girls!" and the children reply. I can tell that she truly loves children. She also says good morning to all the parents outside as well. When I didn't understand the new curriculum she called me back the same day. We met in her office and she heled me as a parent. LOVE it here!! You can tell that the teachers for the most part are the same. Most of them will greet the children with a smile and you can tell that they really get to know the children

My son is in Kindergarten at Relay and I absolutely love this school. His teacher is amazing and the administration is very responsive. Our only concern is being stuck in the Lansdowne High School zone as it is a disaster of a school.

I'm very much dissatisfied with teachers interaction with kids, especially 5th grade teachers. They are very irresponsible. And there is lot of discrimination.

I recently moved into the area from Howard County schools. I was shocked by the difference in approach and the academic rigor at Relay ES. This school helped my son flourish academically without all of the other nonsense. I would recommend this school over any Howard County elementary school. Keep up the good work!

Overall this is a wonderful school...all the teachers seen to get to know the children (even those not in their class). My daughter has been here since 1st grade and is now in 4th. The front office both seem to have an attitiude. The Principal changed this school year and I haven't experienced any problems with her although I've overheard other parents complain. The school seems to host all demographics teaches good values and equality to everyone.

My son is in 3rd at Relay elementary school. I believe everyone needs to know how wonderful this school really is. The communication between the teachers, guidance counsler, nurse, principal, and parents is fantastic. You can tell exactly how much they care about their students. We are beyond pleased with Relay!

I'm a candidate parent. The school's rating is outstanding (top 10) on test score for recent years. I found from public report, (such as schooldigger.com or psk12.com) the testing scores were in the mid range before 2007. Can any Relay parent or school teacher explain to me, what makes this dramatic change? Anything fundamental? Got to be something.
