I have two children at Salem Christian School, one in middle and one in elementary. My oldest has been there for 5 years, after starting in the 3rd grade. I wish we had found it sooner! It has been the best experience, for both kids, and for me as a parent. When our youngest child is old enough, he will be there, too!

I attended this school from preschool all the way through high school graduation. Academically, I was very prepared for college and received a high quality education. I was able graduate from the college I wanted and get my dream job. Spiritually, I cannot say enough good things about how SCS got me into God's Word and prepared me to go out into the world with a biblical worldview. As a student, we were given the opportunity to lead chapel, learn about how to steward money well, and witness to people. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The teachers work hard and truly love the students.

I was a student at the school and I loved it so much that I returned as a teacher! SCS is very near and dear to my heart and I work with a great group of educators. We love our students to pieces! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a faith-based education with smaller class sizes where each child can get the attention they need. As a student I was able to clep out of many of my college courses due to my education at Salem. My class stays in contact to this day, it has been such a blessing to have that godly support system that came from this school. Go saints!

Salem Christian School has been a wonderful foundation for my children. They have grown spiritually as well as educationally at this school. I am so thankful for the teachers who pour into them and the community that has been established within the school.

Teacher turn over is high. I put my kids in the year of 2021 and was promised they would get the individual help they needed to get them back to grade level or above if they wanted to work hard. Not only was no in individual help given, the new material taught was not mastered by every child and some teachers seemed not to care that year. I thought it might be a one off and gave them another year to see if things improved. Nothing changed but I did notice the mold in tbe ceiling tiles in the kitchen, the overflowing/failing septic system and how some children got away with bullying and rule bending. The school is always asking parents to donate items(for auctions/field day etc) and money. One field trip a year is all you might get and it will be on the backs of the teachers who get no health care benefits or help when a sub is needed. In my experience when my childs teacher was sick, another teacher had to take on the duty of a second class for the day. No drs notes required to return to school and no organization to this school plans events. It could be great if Todd Brooking was able to change. But sadly it is not a top class educatuon or experience.

Do NOT send your child here, even if what you're looking for is a faith based education. There are other schools with more effective, well educated teachers who will teach your child fact based information rather than lessons steeped in dogma and indoctrination.

Poor. Our child initially did well but regressed over time. Too much teacher turnover due to poor leadership.

We can’t imagine our children going anywhere else! It’s a place where children go to school and learn kindness and love. The school is a true family environment! Children learn from a faith based curriculum and are supported by loving/caring teachers and administrators! We have attended 4 years and will be here until our kids graduate!

This school is so unbelievably closed minded and don't care about the students. They only care about religion and don't like you questioning it. After I left, Todd Brooking basically shunned and talked trash about me and my family. They teach you that public schools brainwash you and that you wont be Christain if you go to one. They don't follow safety protocols at all. Save your kid the trouble and put them in public school or a different school.

We have a son who has been at Salem for three years now and he has absolutely thrived. We started with a desire to home-school, but as an only child and living in the country, it became clear to us that he needed to be around other children. Besides coming out of his shell socially, he has excelled in numerous subjects, including math, learning foreign language (Spanish), Science, Reading-English-Grammar-Penmanship, playing sports, acting in the school play – and making friends.We are amazed at his development since we enrolled him and we are very thankful for all the teachers and staff at Salem. If you are looking for a Christian school where teachers and staff genuinely love and care for each and every child, all while giving the child a great education based on Christian values, then by all means, send them to Salem.

Do your child a favor and send them to public school. This school is awful and close-minded. Unless you work there, no one really cares about your student.

I have had 2 kids graduate from SCS and my last is in 11th grade. My oldest will graduate from VT with a Chemical Engineering degree and my middle is at JMU. SCS has done a WONDERFUL job of preparing my children both spiritually and academically.

I love Salem Christian School. My children have been attending for 7 years, and I couldn't imagine sending them anywhere else. Small class size, structured learning environment, mission-minded staff that cares about the character of my children, sports program...I could go on and on.
