"Would you recommend this school?" Unless you wish for your kid's mental and physical health to decrease a concerning amount, to have multiple panic attacks because of this middle school, be offered drugs multiple times, be stabbed and strangled just because, and be treated extremely unfairly because of their race then absolutely not. This school made my years stay there like hell on earth. They threatened to expel me because I was in the hall BEFORE CLASS but then when someone was giving people edibles and caused multiple students to be sent to the hospital they got suspended 1 week. The amount of work but lack of care for student's mental health or out-of-school life absolutely baffles me, almost every single teacher in the school gives multiple quizzes A DAY, PER CLASS. I had 5 binders filled by the 2nd week of school, I had to buy a new binder or reuse an old one almost every week and it only got worse from there. If you're bullied and report it you wanna know what happens? They pretty much tell you to suck it up. This school made me and EVERYONE I knew miserable and the staff didn't care. It only got 20xs worse as the years went on. The sad part is that 75% of the issues about this school are related to the staff and their lack of care. The students also treat you horribly, but the staff takes the cake. PLEASE for the sake of your kid's mental and physical health do NOT send them to Parcells Middle School.

This school negatively impacted the mental health of myself and many people around me. The school never showed any support, and many teachers just give up during the year trying to discipline students. Would NOT recommend.

All of these reviews are ridiculous. The person who commented in 2/2020, did you honestly say principle?!?!?!?! PRINCIPLE?!?!?! This school is just as good as Brownell and Pierce. I was friends with kids from those schools, and there wasn’t any differences. All of my teachers were wonderful!

School Principle laughed when asked why african american children were testing in math, reading & science almost 70% lower than white children. Could NOT answer the question. Some female administrator interupted and asked to answer the question and made the statement that this was THE trend in the entire Michigan Public School system, so it was expected. I asked if she believed that black children were not as capable as white children intellectually. Her answer was a smile and a diversion to another topic regarding improvement within "Lower Income Families" with their students. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! ABSOLUTELY UNPURE MICHIGAN! COMPLETELY UNAMERICAN!Parcell needs to change their entire administration from the Principle to the longer term teachers. Hire a teacher from Brownell or GP South to Principle the school and see if there is a difference. If not after 2 years, you have some "teacher NON-diversity" issues. Plainly said, YOU NEED TO HIRE BLACK TEACHERS WHO CAN MOTIVE AND TEACH THE 31% enrollment of African-American "lower income" students. SIMPLE GARY!

This school is very racist to two black kids and people that are not white and Rich they called us stupid dumb and when the kids told their parents but they suspended them for 5 days the teachers hit the kids and they don't get in trouble for it cuz they're white and it's no black teacher and black kids are treated very wrongly and when they try to speak up they get the terrorized by people by their by the office and tell them that they can't say stuff and then make people stand for stuff they don't want to do or be day this do something that you would never want to wish on anybody this school is very bad please don't send your kid there

I hated this school. I was bullied throughout 6th and 7th grade. In the beginning, I refused to stand up to the bullies because I didn't want to be in any trouble. I told the office, but the bullies weren't in any serious trouble. Once I did retaliate, I was receiving weeks worth of suspensions. My teachers were the best though, they encouraged me to take a stand against the bullies, they didn't say fight them, but they did encourage me to speak up. I was on the verge of flunking the 7th grade with all Fs, but my teachers pushed me forward and I was able to raise my grades to Cs. In the end, I ended up attending University Prep Middle School, and I'm now an all A student. Overall I had a troubling experience, being bullied, getting jumped, and having some below average grades, but going through all of that built my character and who I am today.

Parcells school is fantastic. It has maintained the education standards with all the changes in the state standards, recession etc. Teachers are very nice and my daughter and her friends have a high opinion of it.

I'm glad Mr. King the Assistant Principal is gone; he was awful for the school. He pretended to care about the students but seemed to take pleasure in disciplining them. Maybe with a new principal and assistant principal Parcells can once again become a school where students both learn and grow.

Parcells is wonderful...highly recommended! Our son has spent the last two years here (6-7th grade) and has had nothing but positive experiences. With a job that requires frequent relocation, we've had the opportunity to be part of several excellent school districts in three different states and Parcells has met our high expectations across the whole spectrum (principal, teachers, parents, curriculum, fellow students, etc). We will miss this school when we have to move again!

Parcell middle school is a pretty decent school! My son has been here a couple years and has had incidents of bullying but other than that the school tries to nip problems in the bud as much and fast as possible. i do think the district has went down a little as far as expectancy but overall a better district than detroit and warren!
