I live in Nautica Isles and have my son attending Santaluces High School and my daughter attends Tradewinds Middle. I find that teachers and staff are caring and engaging. My wife and I love Tradewinds and the fact that it's literally across the street from us is a plus. My daughter has nothing but good things to say about her 7th grade teachers.

Don't think about going to this school, unfortunately bullying and racism takes place here even though I was told there is zero tolerance policy of bullying for Palm Beach County. False. If after informing the administrators at this school, there are still lack of efforts of even trying to get their overall kids educated with global awareness, racial hatred and consideration of each other's race with kindness and equality. Many kids are deluded in the fact that they live in a bubble where there are no other races than being Haitian or Latino. If you are Asian, then you're on your own and will be tormented by rude kids daily. We live in a global world, wake up Tradewinds!

The faculty, staff, and administration at this school truly care about the kids. They are highly talented, professional,, and exceptional. The data you report does not take into account a lack of parent involvement and participation in their children's education. There is a large population of ELL students (and parents who are unable to assist their children due to the language barrier) and students with disabilities. The teachers of these students work tirelessly to help them. In addition, there are also many students who come into middle school with very low academic skills. This is not the fault of the hard working teachers at middle schools who dedicate their lives to improving the outcomes of these students. I am a working parent and still find the time to check my child's grades every day, review assignments, help with homework, and contact teachers. When teachers can not find a phone number or locate a parent because the numbers are disconnected, that is not the fault of the teacher. When parents do not provide an email address, that is not the fault of the teachers. Parents should be more accountable and more involved. Tutoring is provided at this school for struggling students, yet many of the students are no-shows. Parents are notified, but those without contact information may not know about it and the kids do not want to go. Others are not involved and leave it to the kids.. I really think your rating is faulty and inaccurate. There are too many factors that are not taken into account. I can not say enough about the teachers, office staff, and administrators at this school. TMS is a GREAT school.

If you are the parent of a White child DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS SCHOOL!!! They have MAJOR RACE ISSUES. The Black kids attack the White kids for no reason in groups of 10 or more at a time. They Staff denies all of the issues in the school. I just took my child out the school today.

I am a teacher at TMS and believe that we have been privileged to have a great learning environment with wonderful young people and a dynamic staff. Some of the unique features of our school include the band and chorus under the direction of Mr. Caplin and Mr. Bermudez and our academic learning teams which infuse hands-on learning in each of the core areas to keep students both engaged and motivated. We are certainly moving from being a good school to being a great school. As a staff, we are all looking forward to the new school term which will usher in new Buccaneers and enriched learning.

I was a student from last year and looked at the reviews on this site only to see there aren't many posted for this year or the year before. So here I am ;). Whether you're checking this site because you're a parent or thinking of attending, you should always keep an open mind. As I've already said, there really aren't many recent reviews. So if you came here to see what the school's like, you won't have much luck. So what you read here should have only a little bit to do with your judgement of the school. It all depends on what YOU or your child makes of it. Of course, for me, I'd say that when I was an 8th grader last year, the best thing were my teachers. The best will try to educate you, have fun with you, and try their hardest to be there for you. I was lucky enough to have amazing teachers from 6th-8th.(Pssst, I was in gifted ;) ) But, if you want your teachers to be great, you have to at least be a good student also. Now, I'm not exactly talking about good grades, but you really need to get involved and be respectful. All in all, I enjoyed my time at Tradewinds. I go to Suncoast now ;D and so do about 8 other TMS kids. Go Bucs!!!

The school was awesome when my eldest attended under the leadership of Dr. Howell. However, now that my second is attending under this other principal, I feel the quality of leadership has declined somewhat. The teachers are all still wonderful but they could use better support from a more attentive principal.

I went to this school for 3 years, and for those of you who said Dr. H ran it like a boot camp were entirely wrong. He treated the school as if they were all his kids, not accepting it if any of us steped out of line. Where as Mrs. S, she has all her A.Ps do all the discipline for her. I would say since she took over the school it has gotten worse. This school however has teachers that are very understanding and amazing. I am now entering h.s with all college level (ap) classes. If i could have anything when i enter hs this fall, is that the teachers are as good as the ones at tradewinds.
