We have 2 kids attending Manatee Elementary since Kindergarten. Their Teachers have been very good in our experience. The negatives are few. I volunteered for a class Christmas party w 2 other parents. Kids had a wonderful eoy party. Upon exiting & signing out on required computer in front ofc @130p, I was confronted by Principal Jones as to why I was still here & hadn't left at Noon. I explained I had no idea there was a cutoff end-time Volunteer requirement, (especially during the Holiday party). I was asked which Teacher I was helping & scolded publicly. I left embarrassed & sad for the Teacher & kids. The behavior by the Principal was shameful & dishonorable. I was a Volunteer & should have been respected & appreciated instead of leaving hurt & embarrassed. I didn't speak up since it was a Holiday & I helped the kids & Teacher have a great celebration since they all deserved it. Wth is wrong w that Principal? Scrooge is an understatement!

The huge score disparity between Black students and other groups is very disconcerting. After reading the reviews, I would venture to say that maybe the practices at this school need to be investigated--something is not right.

My son loves this school. He is also doing well in math (what he was problems with).

They demean special needs parents. The Principal allows teachers to scream at parents in IEP meetings. They collect $18k per IEP yet begrudge services for kids who need it. If you have to go to this school, get an advocate and special Ed attorney to attend all IEP meetings. Stay away from here if you can.

Stay away from this school. Staff members from the principal down the teachers are horrible. All they care about is test scores and how they are perceived on social media. Students are bullied and targeted by administration. They do not care about your child.

I witnessed a 1st grade teacher make fun of a student behind their back. The new asst principal is very rude and doesn't answer questions. The principal is unprofessional and rude to parents and she doesn't return calls. This school is a joke.

The principal is a terrible leader and humiliated my son over a minor issue.

A zero. The worst for special needs kids. They only care about the money they get let IEP but begrudge services.

Very good experience teachers have been dedicated and effective.

The only reason this school remains an A is because of the focus on fsa scores and number of high achieving students. There isn’t much else it offers. No afterschool clubs, very few events for families and no community partnerships. Look at all the other local schools to compare!

If your child is special needs don't bother... My child was placed here for the class size. The teacher seemed annoyed by me often. Would see me in waiting area and avoid me. My child is a nonverbal autistic child. I hated the experience at this school!! Highly would not recommend. 10/10 scoring. Hmmmm I don't trust this grading system after my experience. Lazy communication and overall disappointed here. Our children are different not less!!

My family moved to this area because I had heard so many good things about this school. Big mistake! My child's first year at this school was horrendous. The teacher was labeling my child as defiant when he clearly had a learning disability. It took me to take my child to a specialist to have him tested and it ends up he has Dyslexia. The 1st grade teacher argued with me that she didn't agree with the diagnosis the Dr provided. I have had little to no help from the school counselor. I had a meeting with her and she was a no show. The principal took out my child from a class because the class was overcrowded. I pleaded with the principal to not move him as he had a good relationship with the teacher and the teacher was making great strides with him. The principal refused. From that point on, he was not able to excel. I found out a year later that the principal should have not done that at it is a policy that they are not to move children with disabilities. This school is overcrowd and the children are not getting quality time with teachers. I wish I had removed my children from this school sooner.

Kids from the Canyons and EQUUS are being transferred to a far away lake worth middle school. The population is expanding and its getting overcrowded and polluted. These new communities on Lyons road were formerly onion farms, pending a threat to the residents from the pesticides, and mosquito attacks, and snakes. Even the new homes going up east of jog road on Hypoluxo are not in a very safe area! Homes are not that easy to sell because of the overgrowth yet the developers are building attractive, new ones, thus creating more problems for people trying to sell a 7-14 year old home. Go to an established neighborhood with better schools, such as in Wellington or Boca Raton. West Boynton and lake Worth is becoming a haven for snowbirds and 55++++ Valencians who need to find some humid weather outside of the Northeast. The public schools need to wake up and build a new middle and high school before residents decide to leave the entire State!

Don't know why but my past review was deleted. Manatee is a good school because of the students and families that attend the school. There are some very good teachers and there are the ones that shoild not be teaching and here is were the school is weak. The principal does not do anything to change the horrible attutude and unhappiness of these teachers. Many many teachers dont go to recess because is too hot, and in PE for the last 2 years the teacher have been making them write about muscles and bodyparts instead of exercising. The principal is weak having authority with the teachers that have been many years in the school.

So far, I have had a wonderful experience at Manatee for the past 2 years going on 3 now. With both my daughters, we had Mrs. Christy & Ms. Corina (excellent team!), Mrs. Mansen -THE BEST! Love her and we miss her dearly, and Ms. Amanatian - Great teacher.

Manatee is a phenomenal school. My two boys entered the school mid-year and were a little behind from the private school they attended. The teachers and administration really worked hard to catch them up and make them feel at home. Mrs. Churchill-Jones is an extraordinary principal and the structure and compassion that she installs in the teachers and students goes well past the front doors. School is extremely well-kept and I truly do believe it is the best school in Palm Beach County. If your children are fortunate to get Mrs. Franqui, Mrs. Golding, and Mrs. McCaulley, you have hit gold.

Overall I think this is a good school the teachers are friendly and knowledgeable. However the principal is the most unfriendly, rude and unprofessional person I have ever met. This is the first school where I have not seen the principal interact with the parents and the students in the mourning. She passes the students and doesn't even say good mourning she just complains about them being in the way. I think this school would be much better with a more compassionate and friendly Principal and administrative staff.
