No. Don't do it. Just run. Don't bring your kids to this school. They just plain don't do anything about bullying.

Frontier Academy used to be the absolute best school in Greeley hands-down in the past. Both of my children have been and we’re in the school from kindergarten, one till graduation and one currently. Today it is nothing like it used to be, everything finals down from the top in all aspects of life and business. There are teachers at the school that over the years both of my children had extreme issues with, those issues are the fact that my children had their assignments turned in on time, the teacher would then mark their assignments on The campus portal as missing, when they had the assignment In their possession, think about what that would do to a child as far as encouragement goes to do better in school, when they are unfairly graded and Marked on their assignments as missing. This did not happen just one time it happened a lot over the course of four years. I would have to reach out to the principal and teachers directly to get the issue corrected, it will get better for a few days and then right back to the same thing. This is sheer laziness. In the school if you are not of a family of money, or The child is not a teachers pet or a teachers child, then they are missed treated and treated poorly. There was an incident in 2019 with one of my daughters were a boy had slapped my daughter on the rear end, that boy was of a family with money, he did not get in trouble for what he did, my daughter got in trouble for slapping him in the face because of what he did. He inappropriately touched my daughter and my daughter was victim shamed and sent to detention. I am considering removing my child out of the school, it’s a very hard decision due to the fact that she has been in the school Throughout her entire education this far, however I know many other parents that have already removed their children from the school for the same reasons, and many more that are considering it today. Throughout COVID-19 in 2020, in two of the parent teacher conferences that we had in 2020 and 2021, three of my daughters teachers flat out told us that frontier Academy online academic homeschooling was a failure to its students. Did they do anything to fix it, no my daughter suffered greatly with her grades because she had zero support, and the missing assignment staying continued, assignments that were turned in in the beginning of the year did not get corrected till the end of the year, thus making horrible grades for my daughter throughout the entire school year of 2020.

We moved to Greeley almost 6 years ago from Fort Collins. I had a really hard time transferring my son to this school district until we were accepted at Frontier. I have been nothing but happy and same with my child. His test scores have improved and he is more social. Not only that, but every year he loves his teacher. I know I made the right choice putting him in Frontier Academy.

I have 5 kids in this school. High school, middle school, and elementary. When we started 12 years ago it was truly the best school around. That is not the case anymore. There are still some really good, caring, teachers that are still there. Many have left or been pushed out by administration. Principles at both schools are pushing this school downhill. Not at all what it use to be. Parents don't have a voice and the executive committee has turned a blind eye to what is happening. Heck the secondary just fired a GREAT band teacher just because the principal didnt lime him. I predict we'll be a district school before long. We are doing the same curriculum. Long gone are the good ole days of this school. If my kids were just starting out and not High school age of switch schools in a heartbeat. I no longer recommend this school to anyone.

My son started kindergarten in this school, because my wife had convinced me of what a great school it was because her daughter graduated from this school (which she later regretted). The administration has changed at the elementary level, and the principal and asst. principal are absolutely horrible individuals to deal with. It all started with our son being bullied by a known problem child at the school. We had meeting after meeting where they blew smoke and told us exactly what we wanted to hear in order to send us on their way. The problem escalated, and when No one would listen we again got involved. This time my wife and I went to both recesses every single day to ensure our sons safety, and to make sure any occurrence was reported correctly. When we reported several such occurances yo the principal, we were told that since a staff member didn't witness it then it was as if it didn't happen. My son had a rock slammed into his back, he was pushed against the fence, he was pinched, we watched that child stalk, bully and harass our son repeatedly and the school refused to do anything except give my son out if school suspension each time he would retaliate or defend himself. My son's teacher was told not to communicate with us until administration could meet with her first. If that doesn't scream that they are up to something I don't know what does. They accused us of pulling out son out of school early without signing him out which we would NEVER do, and never did. Now I want every parent who is thinking of sending their child to this highly sought after school yo think twice about it. Not only is the staff very unprofessional and childish, but there is nowhere to go above the principal if you have an issue. They do not report to district 6, or to the head of colorado charter schools...they have their own board made up of staff members and former or current student parents that they advise you to go to. What a joke! I would not let anyone I know send their children to the elementary part of Frontier Academy ever. My son was off of their charts academically, way past even the advanced portion...so it is very sad that we were forced out the way we were.

I graduated from this school a year ago. This school is lacking the high school experience. Student council works very hard but administration does not give them the tools they need. The students are never content with what there being given , they constantly are ungrateful of what the school is providing for them. the gym facilities are fantastic now and really provide a great place for students to enjoy there school. If you are looking for great school for college preparation and a school where your student can build relationships with everyone around them (including there teachers) i'd say this is the school to be. The leadership in the school is lacking but the teachers especially in the high school are fantastic.

As a dedicated staff member for the last few years, if I could give anyone thinking about sending their kids here sage advice, I would shout 'RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!' This school is, right now, a total mess. There is poor (or non-existent) leadership, led by a 'my way or the highway' caustic approach; teachers who are all-out afraid of speaking up for fear of losing their jobs, boat-rockers who ARE shoved out, students who are treated differently depending on their parents (rich? never in trouble. Staff kids? NEVER in trouble) and a board that is oblivious. This is white flight's dream school: minorities are rare and getting rarer. What honest public school works so hard to shun diversity while still accepting public dollars? To my colleagues: I know you love the concept of teaching: stop selling your soul to the standardized and institutionalized devil and do what you trained to do: TEACH CHILDREN!

This was a great school, but already it seems to have its best days behind it. Test scores are dropping, achievements are dwindling, experienced staff is leaving. Hard to know what's to blame: they grew significantly in the last few years, they have mediocre facilities, and they switched to a 4-day school week for the elementary kids, which can't possibly be good. I'm glad my kids had outgrown the elementary before they made that choice. The 4-day was hard enough for my daughters when they were at the secondary; what a terrible way to teach the importance of a strong work ethic! Scholarship dollar totals are less here than at other similar schools. I'm glad our youngest is done after this year - wouldn't choose it again. Sorry, school - you've not been true to your mission.

Frontier Academy is absolutely amazing. Our daughter started her elementary education at Monfort elementary school, which was a very disappointing and discouraging experience. Since attending Frontier Academy (for the past two years) her knowledge, confidence and focus have surpassed our hopes. The teachers and staff are amazing, they truly view each child as an individual and work diligently to ensure the success of each child. Our daughter is learning and understanding subjects that are not taught in the public elementary schools until much higher grade levels. On top of a stellar education (that far exceeds other schools) they also learn about respect, ownership, commitments, integrity and much more. I would and have highly recommend this school to anyone who values a quality education for their child.

FA is an amazing school that challenges kids to work to the best of their ability. Kids are put in classes with others if their ability. I am in 7th grade (the class of 2018). I am taking Algebra I (ninth grade math) In third grade, I read at the level that high school seniors were expected to test at. Most FA students reach that level by 8-9th grade at least. 25% of the classes are a year ahead in math, but the Special Ed. kids are also greatly helped. Frontier's standard for academic excellence is high. The SAT avg. for the district was 17, for the state 20, and for FA 22. Teachers are required to have had a 95+ in college for their subject. FA's staff are some of the most involved and knowledgeable teachers I know. They have an amazing music and arts program, and you can go to other schools for sports only. Although the elementary could challenge kids a bit more, FA is still amazing.

After moving to Colorado, three of my children attended Frontier - Elementary, Middle and HS. My oldest graduated from Frontier. She got the education she needed to be successful in college. My son only attended MS at Frontier and left for HS - for sports. My husband and I agree with the change - for the IB program. Our son was very well prepared for the IB program after his MS years at Frontier, completed the IB program, and now attends a top 20 Liberal Arts College in New York. Our youngest attended Frontier from 4th through 8th, until we moved. When enrolling out of state (in Virginia) they tried to tell us their schools were FAR superior to Colorado & it took a fight to get her in their advanced classes. She's 14 now and I just met with her English teacher who told me that my daughter is reading at a College Freshman level, in 9th grade. Take that Virginia! So, in summary, I'd say that Frontier isn't perfect, but your child can get both an excellent education and they can feel like they are part of a family at Frontier. Frontier is small, but they manage to do a lot with a little.

I attended this school k-8 then began a new career at Greeley West. Frontier is a very small school which has pros and cons. Gang affiliation and controlled substances are not near as a problem as any other school. While there is importance to dressing nice the dress code in my opinion as well as most logical peoples' opinions is pretty absurd. The school is strict which again has pros and cons. The bottom line for me regarding FA, is that once I switched schools I experienced a much better staff in education and relation to students, the people you get to interact with at FA is very limited and upon attending Greeley West a much better group was achieved, and finally the projects, field trips, labs are far superior than FA.
