Grant high school was just starting to get better with treatment of students and improve in quite a bit of areas, and I would've recommended the school in the past because Dan Simon was an amazing principal and the school had great art programs and was overall good, until in 2022 the school board began discriminating against students and absolutely destroyed what good remained and ruined the community, they still encourage racism and homophobia. They forced many good educators and staff out, and now most of the newer staff are unprepared or frankly shouldn't be around children. And the new principal at the high school treated students horribly when he was a middle school teacher and now continues to treat students horribly as a principal, but that is another damning choice by the awful school board. Maybe years in the future the damage to the school may begin to be repaired, but as of now the school's quality has been set back by years.

If you or your child is looking for a safe and welcoming place to learn grant is not the place for you. Queer people experience constant harassment and assault and the principal refuses to do anything to punish the people who are causing us to feel unsafe because it would "cause too much of a problem". The problem is that your students, who you PROMISED would be in a safe and diversity welcoming environment to learn, are being sexually harassed and beat up and bullied and yet you are too much of a coward to do anything. So much for a "zero tolerance" bullying and discrimination policy. Not to mention the atrocity that is your schools hallways, since they've been turned into brawling spots. How is it that three girls jumped a trans person for being trans and yet no one was disciplined or even brought to court?? Why is there no punishment for the students who are running around shouting slurs and death threats? And yes, before anyone gets upset about me calling it out, I've got first hand experience with this disgusting institution. I wish I had never attended here, because your school gave me a life time supply of trauma.

After being involved many years with this school as a student, parent, and instructor.I would not want my kids involved with Grant schools. If you are thinking of moving into this district,Check into how many family's have left first.

I attended this school until I graduated in 2010. Overall this school is great but in regards to preparation for college; it is subpar. Grant may have a great curriculum but the way students are tested is horrible. It is about memorizing facts but in reality one needs to be able I analyze and think critically about different situations. This school doesn't do that.
