I've been at PrepNet Virtual Academy since it began four years ago. This school is fantastically different than other virtual schools in Michigan because they have "live" online teachers all day, every day of school. The elementary thru high school students have a main classroom teacher and an OLM (parapro) in their classroom. They have special teachers (PE, Art, Tech, and Music) in the elementary. The middle and high school runs like all in-person schools with different teachers for their courses and 5 minutes between classes. The whole school teaches moral focus (wisdom, respect, encouragement, etc..) during the advisory sessions, and the high school even has a student council. I love the diversity at PVA and the fact that the staff lives all over the US and even other countries! The students are diverse as well and can attend from all over Michigan! What a great way to learn about our state! It has a great environment! Yes, you need to be prepared to work hard at PVA....they are getting students ready for college! When you attend, you'll need to make sure you are ready to engage and ask questions when you need more support! They love to support students at all learning levels and needs. They use a ton of best practice technology and teaching tools to offer learning for all types! It's amazing what the young elementary students are able to do with technology! Students are even encouraged to collaborate together in breakout rooms on their Google Meets. I am impressed with where PrepNet is headed with educational learning, and if you're interested in trying a new way to learn and get a good, solid, and challenging education for whatever reason, PVA is a great choice for so many! Check us out!

My daughter started here in second grade. She didn't like going to school much and struggled with paying attention in class at her old school. This year she made Honor Roll and has had perfect attendance. Her grades have improved and she has not missed any days. She loves getting up signing into class being able to focus without distraction. She doesn't get upset anymore or say she doesn't want to go to school. She's very happy and excited everyday to learn new things and do breakout rooms with her classmates. The experience we've had overall has been very pleasant and made a big different to my child's interest and capabilities for learning. With it being online I don't worry about my child's safety going to school everyday. She's able to attend class right from the comfort of her own bedroom. It's also very helpful that she's able to take her laptop and do class anywhere. She enjoys that part the most. She is able to travel with us and visit her grandparents more often not having to worry about taking time off from school. She also enjoys that even if she is sick she's still able to attend classes to learn and see her friends without worrying about spreading germs. The switch for us has been very positive for us in many ways. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone looking to switch their child or children to an online option. It has been a life changing experience for our family.

PrepNet Virtual is a great place to work. I feel supported by my direct report dean and my entire team. I love the curriculum that encourages students to think critically for themselves.

My daughter has been attending PrepNet Virtual Academy since 2nd grade and is now in 5th grade. Throughout her time here, she has consistently been an honor roll student, and I truly appreciate the school's dedication to academic excellence. The teachers are supportive, the curriculum is well-structured, and the flexibility of virtual learning has been a great fit for our family. PVA provides a strong learning environment that challenges students while also encouraging their growth. I highly recommend this school to any family looking for a quality virtual education experience!

My kids have been enrolled in PVA for four years. There is so much I love about the school. It is convenient for both parents and children because you get quality education without leaving home. Live classes are complimented with top rated educational apps for Math and reading. Students’ learning is continually monitored to ensure they are up to state levels or beyond. It is easy to communicate with the teachers and I love that there are other opportunities to interact with students outside school through PVA’s field trips and other optional online events after school hours. My kids were provided with their chromebooks and any other school supplies needed for class. I cannot recommend this school enough to my friends and anybody who is searching for quality education.

I have two kids that attend PVA they both have IEP. This is the first year they have gotten so much support and they are doing amazing. One of my sons is autistic and he gets support’s with OT , help with reading a math and social work help. The students are responsible for finishing the work the teachers and OLMs do send out the work for the younger grades and the link to get them into the meetings. The school can only do so much there also needs to be the support from the home side too. This really is a school that parents need to also look into their kids work not just take their word for it that they’re done. So were some might say that the learning outcome of the school is low you get what you put in.

Often when you see low ratings on academics, it is not the schools' fault. The kids themselves must bear responsibility for doing their work and coming to class. Some kids come and do absolutely nothing and can't be motivated to do any work. This is true in every public and charter school I have ever seen. There are also kids who have a very chaotic and unsupportive environment at home. Little/no parental support in some cases. All of this affects outcomes. I was an educator at PrepNet Virtual and I can say that the the teachers bend over backwards to try and motivate and help the students. Many kids are placed in virtual and online schools because of having difficulty in the public school setting. If you pay attention, do your work, and come to class, you will do fine at PrepNet. Its very important to have parental involvement too, because a child doing online/virtual school at home NEEDS accountability from an adult at home.

I was a skeptical parent about virtual schools and I must say that PrepNet Virtual Academy has truly exceeded my expectations and continues to provide my student with a safe and productive learning environment. My student has been attending since 2020 and we don't have one complaint. The staff is very helpful and attentive to all of your concerns and Our principal Mrs. VK is always readily accessible and super transparent. There's opportunities for in person connection through field trips and community events. The overall school culture is definitely unmatched and I believe they supercede ANY brick and mortar school out there.

My son has been attending the online school for two years, definitely has good communication, supervision, and guidance. I’ve always had prompt responses when contacting the school w/ any concerns. When my child is out of line I’m contacted immediately, which I love. My son is very aware that when it comes to school I play no games. So far I’ve had a pleasant experience.
