Great school. Best in Kentwood. Very diverse. It’s great if you want your kid to be a better person. Great teachers and staff. Kids very welcoming and friendly. If they see someone new they help them adjust right away. Great academics. Best school I’ve seen that has Academy, Behavior, Arts, and sports. Very welcoming. It’s better than other middle schools in the district %100 your kid should come here

This school is amazing!! Like Pinewood is the best middle school in Kentwood. The teachers are nice, the principal are nice, and surprisingly the students are nice too! The best part is the school is close to East Kentwood High School and EKFC so, people that go to PWMS *Pinewood Middle School* will be able to use EKHS *East Kentwood High School* and EKFC *East Kentwood Freshman Campus. This school is amazing I really do recommend!

I have two students in this school, One is Special Needs and the other is an advanced student. My special needs student has an amazing special education team working with him and is moving along very well. However my advanced student is faced with teachers who don't care and hand out assignments online without explanation and refuse to answer questions when asked, one of the teachers even told him she doesn't know the answer and he needs to google it. The bullying problem at this school is totally out of hand. My advanced student was being punched over and over again on a daily basis in the back of the head by a child who was known to be a big problem and they refused to do anything about or even address it even after my student made several complaints and I also called several times. My child finally snapped one day and hit this kid back and the kid then proceeded to beat him up until he was bleeding and had several knots on his head and guess who got in trouble? YEP they decided that my student was the problem and they declined to punish the other child stating that he's a troubled kid and they are trying to work with him rather than punish him so he gets a free pass to punch anyone he wants to while my child who has never been in trouble, makes good grades, is known to be a helpful student etc was suspended for several days. The staff here are nice but make a lot of empty promises and have no follow through due to lack of communication amongst themselves.

having 3 kids through this school, and 1 in 8th grade I have watched and seen this school decline. this school is full of bullies and if you complain the bullied child gets punished not the bully. alot of the teachers do not teach or care about the students, a few due but most do not.

Pinewood is a great school. One daughter just finished three years at Pinewood and another is still at Pinewood. They have great teachers who know my daughter. I like that the principal and office staff actually care about my concerns. They have a great orchestra and band program.

My child has attended Pinewood for two years and we are very pleased with the quality instruction, excellent teachers and administration. Pinewood has a large population which has been professionally managed by the staff. I am surprised to read that a few reviewers complain about homework and bullies. Homework has not been overwhelming and resources are available for children experiencing harassment and inappropriate behaviors. From my experience as a Guidance Counselor in a different District, quite often parents choose not be actively involved in their child's school experiences but complain. It's sad when parents refuse to contact instructors and staff about concerns, refuse to volunteer and create expectations for our children's educators to take on responsibilities parents should embrace for the holistic care of their own children. Pinewood is an excellent school and we have enjoyed working with the instructors and staff to create a healthy learning environment for our child.

There are huge problems at Pinewood Middle School with discipline and bullying. I've had 4 children go through this school and the decline in the quality of education and there inability to keep kids safe is why I would never recommend this school to any one.

Pinewood has been amazing. My daughter has flourished and the administration staff makes a bigger school feel small. My son will be attending next year. Kentwood public is a great district. We sold our home and refused to leave the district and could of gone anywhere.

I am a parent of 3 students who currently attend Pinewood Middle School and I am also a substitute teacher who regularly teaches there as well. Let me tell you it is the BEST middle school that Kentwood has! I love the staff, the teachers, the kids, everything =) My 3 kids love Pinewood and they have never been bullied or teased, ever. The staff cares, the teachers are amazing and the whole atmosphere is just uplifting. Great school! Out of the 3 that Kentwood has, Pinewood is the one I would recommend to anyone, as a mom and as a teacher.
