The teachers and staff are wonderful. We did have issues with one of the first grade teachers Mrs Thomasma. Thankfully all the other teachers were so great that I would not want to send my kids any place else. This school has a very positive environment.

The teachers are great, and are continually learning themselves. The Principle is FANTASTIC, she ALWAYS puts the children first and is sensitive to their individual needs. One of the things I really like is how they start their day, someone greets the kids at the buses or classroom and personally says good morning and shakes each child's hand letting them know they matter and are cared for, what a great way to start the day. They have a program in place which encourages positive behavior verses focusing on negatives only. Mustang Pride system. We have three children one is special needs and one is an over achiever, I love how the school has programs in place that are appropriate for BOTH kids. I am so thankful for this school and the community that it is, there are lots of family activities put on by the school and the PTA, to further develop that feeling of community and to foster solid relationships. Would and have recommended this school to my friends that are both in district and out of district!!

We love Meadowlawn! It is the perfect size for an elementary, not too big or overwhelming but yet offers great diversity, many activities and opportunities. The teachers, principal, and parents are very involved, and the kids are taught various ways to have pride in themselves and their school. So glad to live in this community!

The office staff clearly HATES their jobs!! They are rude even to parents with a first time parent going through the school system with a kindergartener. Very condesending and rude to the parents. I honestly will be switching schools next year although her teacher seems SO wonderful!!

Based on test scores i would consider a 2 month trial, although very concerned about the EXTREMELY LOW Science test scores for 5th grade. Slightly concerned why not more diverse. And appreciative of the honestly of teacher ratio. I would stick to a 2 month trial

We've had three children attend Meadowlawn over the past seven years. Meadowlawn is a traditional neighborhood school embedded in a socially, economically diverse community. Three years ago, I returned to school to become an elementary school teacher, inspired, in part, by the excellence that I observed by the professional and highly skilled teachers that our children had at Meadowlawn. After three years of teacher training, I can attest to the expertise of our teachers at Meadowlawn. Principle Downs encourages parental involvement and advocates for ALL children in her school. Our family is looking forward to a continuing association with Meadowlawn for many years.
