Great principal, but with that being said a lot of the other staff is very passive aggressive.

Overall, I'd say the experience has been fairly average, with a few dark spots and some bright spots. It's our first full year here, so who knows?

Teachers are willing to work with each kids individualized need. It's a newer school, district 51 should figure a way to increase budget to allow for more staff to help this growing school.

I am appalled by the actions of this school's staff. They seem to care very little for the safety of the children. Since there is not a single bus to this school, everyone must drive their children to school, and the school has done absolutely nothing to accommodate the hundreds of vehicles, which it was not designed to handle. Furthermore, they just turn the children loss at the end of the day without any precautions taken to ensure the safety and welfare of the children against the predators lurking everywhere with 2.5 times the national average. The staff appears to do little more than absolutely necessary to maintain employment, and the curriculum is far below acceptable standards. My second grader has homework that entails nothing more than counting to 100. Pathetic standards at best. When contacting the district's authorities about these issues, they just play the blame game. It is everyone's fault but theirs, and they have no interest in collaborating with parents to resolve these serious issues. Even stating that they cannot be held liable for the children's safety. Atrocious statements from an educational facility/authority. Home-schooling is a MUCH better opt

As a previous student teacher at this school, I would absolutely send my children to this school. Cheri Taylor is an amazing principal. She has the firm discipine necessary to run a school, but at the same time the students know how much she cares about them and their learning. The teachers are all incredibly dedicated and have great management. What an amazing school!

Sadly, some people judge too quickly and are just down right ignorant! My daughter had a totally positive experience at Pear Park Elementary! They have some of the HIGHEST scores on the CSAP in District 51! The teachers and principal work hard to ensure that the students are getting an excellent education!
