So today I went in to register my daughter for kindergarten she's my first child and I am a mess about her going to school, with that said I want to thank the office staff especially the one that helped me today she was so informative and helpful she was nice and even showed us around the school because my daughter ask. I went in feeling very overwhelmed and am thankful to leave a little more at ease. Thankyou

North Star Elementary is AWESOME! If people are having issues, they need to stop blaming the staff and start taking responsibility of their own!

I read these amazing comments from various parents that say how wonderful this school is when actually these are soo untrue. I also have had many family members and children of my own travel through this school and the best thing that has happened was when they moved to middle school..This schools principal has always had issues with properly handling uncomfortable situations..so those of you who say such flawless reviews must work there..I will say that most of there teaching staff is above average..they have always concentrated more on discipline than education.

I am a parent with two children in various grades at North Star and I have to say that I am beyond appalled by the negative reviews recently posted by other folks. The reviews by NO MEANS represent the true picture of this school. First of all, yes there has been a 48-hr stomach bug going around; my child was affected too and stayed out for two days. Secondly however, the principal of the school, whom I might add is a caring and popular educator, called this past week with an update on the outbreak, telling parents of the stomach bug and that the school, staff and district would take any precautions necessary to ensure cleanliness by nightly sweeps, encourage proper hygiene with the kids, and asked parents to please talk to their children about sanitizing, plus asked to keep them home if they display any symptoms. Why would any parent go out of their way and leave one-star feedback for a school otherwise proven to be caring, safe, bright and friendly, only because they feel that the school didn't "warn" them of a stomach virus? I can tell parents looking at this school for their kids that this is a wonderful place for education and fun alike with great teachers and staff.

My kids have gone to and through North Star since 2001. I have never had any troubles and enjoy dealing with the staff and office support staff. Looking at the posts from parents below who gave a 1 star rating, if definitely the showing of a parent who has NO CLUE! How the school handled the outbreak was good. We all received calls giving a ton of info on what was happening at the school and what precautions were being taken. I called and the staff that answered the staff was very friendly and helpful and reassuring with my concerns. Maybe the parent who is concerned should answer the phone when the school calls! It is usually important if called the school and asked questions instead of making assumptions.

I am concerned about the truthfulness of the managemrnt.staff at this school for the past week. This school has had a stomachs flu outbreak . In some classes over half of the students are out sick. . Wednesday so many children went home sick they canceled picture day..at one point they had sick children everywhere in the office waiting to go home.. my issue is that the school took no actions in notifying parents if This obviously apparent outbreak... The only reason I know is because one teacher with morals notified her parents with an email of the situation. I contacted several parents to pass the word. But no one but myself had received any news.. Very disappointed in the management of northstar...and there decision about the priority of our children's safety...:(

I have never been terrified about the school that my child attends, however I can honestly say that this is the worst school I have ever seen! My interactions with the staff were extremely unpleasant, and the principal Mrs. Hillius was even worse than the office staff. I can not believe the way this school operates. No wonder the principal has her daughter in a different district! That says alot about the quality of education in the district.

Very caring teachers! My granddaughter loves it. The staff is very helpful in supplying divorced parents each with information they need.

North Star is AMAZING! Both my girls are going there since Kindergarten, my older one is getting ready to finish 3rd Grade and my little one finishes up 1st grade. I have not had a single teacher in this school I did not like. The staff and educators are absolutely caring and kind, my daughters excel academically, they have lots of fun and many friends. The setting of this school is beautiful and uncrowded, transportation is reliable and safe, the PTA is very involved and puts forth a ton of effort. I cannot sing my praise high enough, my children are in the best hands possible at this school.

My kids both started at this school this year one in Kindergarten and the other in 2nd grade. They both love their teachers and my son is learning a lot. My daughter is learning as well but because Kindergarten is only 1/2 day she is not learning as much as my son did in his full day Kindergarten class. The office staff is very friendly and always willing to help me with any problems/concerns/ questions I may have. My only complaint is with the district some schools in the district have all day Kindergarten and the parents do not need to pay yet others; like this school the parents have to pay if they want their children to attend all day. I feel this sets unfair advantages for students attending the free all day Kindergarten within the SAME school district.

My daughter is in kindergarten and she loves it. We love her teacher. however the office staff is rude whenever i call for anything. At first I just thought they were having a bad day. After a year of calling and dealing with these people they are just uncaring or they hate their job. It seems as though helping me with anything is a waste of their time. I find it really discouraging and want to move my daughter.
