Both of my daughters attend South Coast Montessori, they feel at home here. They have very close bonds with their teachers and they continue to guide them to become independent and kind human beings. They love coming to school every day and I feel comfortable and happy to know that they are in a place where their needs are being met and where they are seen as unique and capable human beings. I love the friendships they have made and I am sure they will continue to thrive here.

My family had a bad experience with a particular teacher in the toddler classroom and the administration. Very unprofessional. Teacher seemed to care more about having long breaks than about providing care for children. Administration handled the situation poorly, they actually stopped allowing assistants to speak with me after I brought up that the teacher’s reports contradicted what the assistants were telling me. Their actions seemed very discriminatory. Please do your research before going to this school. And if you already go to this school and they refuse to do very simple tweaks to accommodate to your child’s needs because of licensing requirements, please call licensing to find out what their requirements actually are. I did and found out that they chose to act the way they did.

The community at SCM is very welcoming. I feel fortunate to be part of this community. My kids love their peers as well. The elementary classroom is small so everyone knows each other very well and they are great to each other. They have formed their community, and I know they will continue their friendship throughout their life. I love how they ask parents to come and talk about their job or a certain baking/ cooking activity and they all get to do it together. The elementary teacher is the BEST teacher ever they (my kids and the elementary students) are so lucky to have such an amazing, brilliant, patient, and creative teacher.
