They treat athletes special, they don't care if they are feeling or struggling in their academics or have behavior issues, certain teachers or staff will go out of their way to undermine parents parenting skills or discipline with their kids. They also let outside interference from X staff members, or parents of other children, they have meetings with your child without you being involved. This is total contradictory to the elementary school. It gets progressively worse from Junior High through High School.

We have 2 boys who have been in Gobles Elementary. Teachers are mostly awesome and communicate great with parents

The students are very clique-oriented and are not welcoming to new students. No follow through dealing with bullies especially if the bullies play sports. Noticeable level of girl bullying as well. The elementary seems to do well but the middle/high school is not a healthy environment for adolescents.

As has been stated, this school has a problem with acceptance and diversity. The majority of the students are students of family members that have been going to the school for years and years and years, and the teachers/staff tend to be friends or related to these individuals. If you are an outsider coming in, get into sports asap, or do not expect to be accepted. If you are not white, expect to be treated differently. There are a handful of genuine teachers who go above and beyond, but just not enough to change the culture.

My son was attending the preschool program in the elementary building. He was threatened multiple times on the bus by older kids and even came home with his backpack cut. When I brought it to the principal, his response was he had hundred of kids to worry about. When I brought it to the school board president, I was told that maybe riding the bus wasnt the best option and that when his kids were in school he did not allow his children to ride the bus. The only option I had for the protection of my son, was to completely take him out of the program. We have since moved out of the school district. I will NEVER allow my son to attend Gobles, or any school within that district. Completely disgusting and a disgrace to the community.

I hate this school system, all this kids are extremely rude and the only way to be fully accepted by everyone is athletics. Students have no room to excel in anything but that.

I traveled with my family to various parts of the United States and around the world. This provided me the opportunity to attend numerous schools. Frankly, Gobels High School was, academically, at least two years behind the other schools I had attended. It had little to offer and specialized programs that allow students to pursue their interest and talents in ways that they can develop themselves for future specialized jobs. The curriculum was extremely basic and, in particular, the math program was, overall, about four grade level behind the math programs at other high schools I had attended. Overall, I had the impression that Gobels High School was training its students for jobs in menial positions, such as working in a paper mill or on automotive plant assembly line. The school needs to improved academically and allowing students to pursue courses that would help them develop technical, math and scientific skills, thereby providing them the opportunity to compete and to obtain highly technical jobs or to pursue university degrees. Without such improvements in the education for our children, they will not be prepared for the jobs of the future.

We moved our kids into this school when my oldest was 8. Combined my kids had 9 years of education at Gobles. One of those years was less than stellar academically for one child and because we were involved (as most parents are) it was easy to talk to the principal about it. The following year that child's test scores skyrocketed. The principle simply won't tolerate mediocrity. I really owe the teachers at this school a large debt of gratitude for 9 amazing years of pouring love and learning into my kids. It is a wonderfully diverse environment racially and in how they work with special needs kids. Many schools preach character but few expect it and coach for it. This school is imperfect; but not by too much.

This is an amazing school system. Everyone is very involved with helping each student to accomplish there goals. It's a very happy and friendly environment from K-12. Schools seem to be under a great superintendent, which is what we have needed ! Great job Gobles!

I go to this school. I moved into the high school for my freshman year, and everybody welcomed me with open arms. Gobles is a very friendly and family place. The students and staff are all very nice, they all care about you. You are treated like family. It's a place of comfort. Doesn't feel much like school because it is "relaxed." Since we are a very small school, you get to know everybody. Have more friends, and people treat one another with more respect. Couldn't be happier to be called a Gobles Tiger!

This school is good if you like the drama, bullying, and absolutly no help from the staff. The school is all about the athletics and not teaching the kids. Seems like pregnancy is promoted there and not advised against. Hope your not afraid to have you kids contract an std.Name and money are everything to this school and they are sure to make the other students know this.

I totally agree with, if you dont have the right name, your out of luck at Gobles. some of the school workers are clicky and still caught up in teenage drama. I wish we would of sent our child to a school with professionals that care about the kids and thier development. there is only one class that prepares them for college. Less kids are going out for sports because of the favortism. classes and some sport transprotations are being cut. The special needs class is very limited. For people that are thinking about enrolling, the staff does SEEM nice. And Gobles does have Some wonderful teachers.
