Our 7 year old was seriously injured in Lyon school yesterday 2/27/19 but the school did not send him to hospital immediately. Instead, they have my kid waited for about an hour until the grand parents could pick him up. I was on business trip in California. We were told over the phone that my son slipped by himself. We were told he needs to see a doctor but nobody told us it was an E.R. issue until we picked up the kid and figured it out ourselves. My kid got concussion. He saw stars in front of his eyes after his head hit the ice heavily. He could not read the giant poster on the wall of the nurse's room. When he arrived at the E.R., 9 or 10 doctors or nurses rushed to the poor kid and immediately took him for treatment. At that time, 1 hour after he was injured, the poor boy was pale. He could not get up and was falling asleep. After he was treated at the hospital and recovered from his drowsiness, he told me: "I felt the connecting cord of my brain fell off. It took me very long to respond. It was just hard to. I did not slip. I felt the force. Some kids were sliding on the ice on their knees. Someone hit me on my heals and I fell. They hit me behind me so I did not see who it was but I felt the force."I wonder why the kids were not stopped right away when they started playing on the ice. I wonder why my son was not taken to school right away after he started not being able to read or see clearly. It could have been a lot worse. As the doctor said: we are just very lucky. I got some claim paperwork the with a remark on it describing the accident as " He fell backward on the Playground. He received a large bump". When the student was in danger, he had to wait for his parents to go to the E.R. The school just wanted to report: It was just a bump!!!!

What an amazing experience! My children both thrived yet they have very different personalities and different learning styles. Amazing teachers and leaders, great programs, excellent focus on character and what is truly important. I highly recommend Lyon!

We will be moving to the area in the Fall and I have been so impressed by the Principal's responsiveness as well as the person responsible for special services. Kudos to them.

We've had a great experience at Lyon school. The principal is fantastic, the teachers are really good, parent involvement is huge. My only complaint is that it is only k through 2nd. I wish my kids were in the same school longer.

Lyon School offers a fabulous education for grades K-2. The teachers are great, the staff is caring, and the principal is beyond wonderful. Two of my children have graduated from Lyon and I have one more entering and I will be sad when we leave. There is a warmth throughout the school that allows children and parents to feel comfortable and happy. Both of my children were happy going to school each day and had an appropriate amount of homework for their age. I highly recommend Lyon.
