I am a current student at this school and I want to leave so bad. This school is terrible and sucks at teaching. They don’t care about the students they treat the students differently and bully’s them. The food here is DISGUSTING it’s undercooked and just NASTY. The students here are worse they talk about drama left and right and they make up stuff for fun or just because they are bored. DONT BRING YOUR KID HERE.

Sunset Vista is a good school! Im a 7th grade student who is gifted and is struggling with my mental health. Mr.J is a amazing help during this time! There are only a few teachers I and a bunch of other students dont like this includes the art teacher and the music substitute. This school is very inclusive! Very sad I wont be here next year, Ill be going to landmark because its closer to me when i move.

The teachers require an exorbitant amount of 2nd chances to students acting out, frequently, allowing the education of the students actually doing what they're supposed to. My child frequently comes home upset that they think they're going to fail because the principal sends to disruptive students back to class, with no repercussions. The value of the students education is absolutely none, they feign interest in the mental health but care more about playing buddy buddy to students who are destructive and disruptive with no regard for other students. The principal and vice principal, DeAnza Baker being the worst, is frequently degrading of the male teachers in front of the students primarily the elder PE teacher and the music teacher, and one of the teachers was even accused of telling a student to drop his pants, and despite several students and the hall video saying that the teacher never said anything to the student, besides telling the student to go to the office. My child said the teacher was gone from classes all day after, but returned after two days, and the student returned prior and on the teachers first day back gave what appeared to be an "apology" note. There has been destruction to school property during school hours with no students held accountable. My child fears for his safety, and his learning experience, and I'm concerned about if this will set him back for high school. My youngest was to attend the school but there was a substitute teacher for Special Education, which apparently there was a rotating number of subs on S.E. all year. The value of education seems to be nonexistent and more so seems to be the head administration being more interested in playing best friends to the students instead of actually acting as a principal. Baker gives me the indication that she doesn't actually value this job, or her students and it's likely just a day to day distraction for her meandering life.

I was a student here at the school. 8+ years ago when I was enrolled here when I had the worst school experience of my whole life; from non-stop bullying by students and teachers to school lunches being either terrible or undercooked to overcooked food to the bathrooms being vandalized on a daily. I am now glad to be away from that school in another state. if I could I would give this school 0 stars.

My daughter has been at this school since kindergarten and is going in t 5th grade. We have 3 kids all in different schools and I would pick this school any day. Love this school so does she.

I relocated to AZ just about two weeks before school started. Sunset Vista is our assigned district school and I didn't have much time to research so I decided to enroll them here, especially when I drove past & saw how gorgeous the campus is. It was a rocky start to say the least - the office staff tends to make you feel like you are inconveniencing them & Dr Richmond is dismissive & rather passive for a principal. My youngest was bullied by HER TEACHER even AFTER I had my child removed from her room. Had to file a formal complaint with the district for any real action to be taken. Was told she won't be back in any GESD school next year. THANK GOD! The only reason I'm even giving 3 stars is because my youngest's new teacher is very sweet & works well with my child & my oldest's teacher has been nothing less than extraordinary from day one. I know Dr. Richmond was trying to revitalize the PTO, however, I'm not sure how well that went over. Regardless, as it stands, I'm researching others schools for my children because Sunset Vista just doesn't feel like a very good fit for us.

I was very pleased with Sunset Vista Elementary School. In my personal experience, the teachers were great, the principal was nice, and my kids were happy to be here. The school still looks new, they have great technology, and my kids had great experiences. Overall, I'm very happy with Sunset Vista. It is one of the best schools in the district.

I'm a former student of Sunset Vista Elementary, and My personal experience in that school was not great. I was 8th grade class of 2010-11. The year before was so bad. I'm not going to get into detail let's, just say it was so bad they had to separate the boys and girls from lunch, and recess. They lack in their education, specially since they have numerous behavior issues. It makes it difficult for students who actually want to learn. The teachers are excellent though. If your child wants to learn they'll offer help with after school tutoring and such. When I was their they offered programs for 7th and 8th grade to help them exceed on their AIMS. One thing for sure is, that school is trying hard to improve.

WORST SCHOOL IN THE GLENDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! NO CHILD NEEDS TO SUFFER THIS ADMINISTRATION!

Sunset Vista Elementary is one of the worst schools especially when it comes to positive versus negative comments and teachers. They concentrate so much on the behavior that the teaching is second rate. They do not treat each student fairly and this is seen daily especially since Dr. Richardson is now at the school. DO NOT EVEN SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!
