I'm currently attending desert mirage. My first year there was wonderful. When I moved into seventh grade all the teacher were horrible expect one. The reading teacher doesn't even teach us anything because she talks for the full class time. The math teacher can't teach anything because the students are always talking (like all the time). The science teacher , I don't know about her because I'm in a program called pep for the smarter kids. The langue arts teacher is one of the 5 teachers that actually teaches us something. The social studies teacher is probably the only great teacher. 3/5 of the teacher make me feel unwelcome to be at school. The lunch is horrible. Our sports teams are horrible too. The school itself looks great but once you're in the school it's terrible. The bullying is out of hand !!!

Great school with wonderful staff. They have so many extra after school activies as well. From volley ball, cross country, basketball, music, dance, building clubs, craft clubs, recycling clubs, news club, year book, etc. the possibilities are endless. They also have a wonderful STEAM academy that is wonderful for your child who loves hands on learning.

My kids have attended this school since Kindergarten and have always loved the school. The school has a great sense of community and has some really outstanding teachers such as Mrs Ranney, Mrs Pacheco, Mrs Necaise, Mrs Ainsa, Mrs Hunt, Mrs Ridgeway, Mrs Holsinger and Mrs Grub. In the last several years we have seen a decline in this school as shown by their rating which has now dropped to a 5. There seems to be a lack of leadership and ability to get things done. The school has no music or band program, got rid of the music teacher but have 2 PE coaches and have very limited sports and clubs, especially for girls. It would be great to see more of a focus on academic excellence as the school seem to focus more on the kids who are not performing and not holding them accountable. Parents who don't help their kids succeed need to be accountable and if that means failing and holding kids back then it needs to be done...not continuing to cater to them because they complain the loudest. The Aims scores will continue to decline if the school continues to not challenge the kids more and provide more classes that allow higher performing kids to work harder.

My daughters have attended Desert Mirage for the last 5 year. My oldest came from Dysart school district and was below the standards in reading and I could not get any assistance from Dysart. She started 2nd grade with Ms. Arnaud (now Mrs Rainey), after testing she was placed into an extra reading program. My daughters attended this reading class during 2nd to 4th grade. She makes honor roll and receives A's in reading. I believe the extra attention from the awesome teachers is what kept my daughter from turning into a statics. I haven't had to deal with administration to much but the few minor issues were addressed. District needs more sports programs. Only basketball teams to join.

We were spoiled having Mrs. Neicase for 7th grade math, she is awsome. The 8th grade Math teacher does not teach, she does examples on the board and tell the kids if they want to learn math to look it up on the internet. I have tried to discuss this with the principal - they just say I am the only one who has a concern, I have talked to so many other parents who share this concern. Get a tutor for 8th grade.
