We have been parents of two students who have attended Aquinas. They started after coming from another private catholic school and a private "secular" school. Hands down the best decision we could have made for both of our children. It is the tone set by the school that excellence is the expectation of all students, regardless of ability or challenge. They support students with different learning styles and when the head of school takes an interest and leads by example, the staff follows. This is a community asset that far exceeds its small stature in a crowded marketplace. We have options, as we all do, and we have opted to have our children in this environment for the character development, leadership and educational experience that they have enjoyed. I see that others have commented on the teachers at the school. During COVID closure as ordered by the Governor of PA the teachers were sharing with the students that they could not wait to get back into the classroom. This was not the case in many local school districts and that is a direct reflection on the commitment that teachers make to their students and to their profession

We pulled our son from a prominent, top-ranking suburban school district and moved him to Aquinas Academy, an academically rigorous Catholic school, several years ago, for the start of our son's third grade year. We made this choice for a number of reasons, including class size and curriculum, but also that placed higher expectations on students, not only academically, but also with regard to behavior. We chose Aquinas after much research, I can honestly say that it was different from day one, to the point that at first I was suspicious that teachers and faculty could really be that open, accessible and committed to their students’ success. Academically he is being challenged, and the worksheets he spent hours on at his old school are a thing of the past. He has to write, a lot; he does not copy and paste. He has to memorize lines and present/speak in front of his classmates on a regular basis. The math curriculum is advanced but logical, with each lesson reinforcing previous lessons while building new concepts. I also am grateful that the expectations we have at home in terms of good manners and respect for others are reinforced and modeled at school. Yes, it is a sacrifice, though nowhere near (probably less than half) as expensive as many of the private schools in the area. Yes, it is painful to pay high property taxes and tuition. Yes, he has a longer bus ride. But when we see how happy he is, how he is growing academically and how he is developing as a young man of good character, it’s worth it. I cannot say enough about this school, the teachers, and the leadership.

I have 3 children at AA and one that already graduated. The curriculum is superior as is the Catholic formation. Having moved many times and experienced several Catholic schools I can state unequivocally that this school is excellent. The teachers are very well educated and choose to teach at AA because they support the schools mission. Parents and faculty work together to prepare our students to become strong Catholic leaders in the future.
