I've had great experiences at this middle school. The principal and teachers work as a great team to help students succeed.

The teachers here are the best. I'm not sure what the the parent a few reviews down from me is talking about, but I think they are wrong. The teachers are great. The principle is the most active principle I have ever seen. The security is pretty modern. I feel safe, and happy at GMS

This is not a true middle school because it lacks exploratory classes as well as advisory time. These are major components of any middle school, and they greatly benefit adolescents. Our family moved from another town where my older children attended an excellent middle school. Sadly for my younger children, they did not receive the same positive experience at GMS. GMS has potential, but the district as a whole is not open to new ideas or change. GMS was something to be endured and tolerated not celebrated and enjoyed. I really saw a great difference after the last dance and the last day of school. When my older children left their middle school, they cried. They had encountered teachers who truly cared about them and made learning fun. When my younger children left GMS, it was a great relief. This saddens me greatly. I would also say that there are some teachers at GMS who have no business being in the education profession. They belittle students and bully them. Attempts to address this only made matters worse. I could name only one teacher at GMS who positively impacted my child's life. It would benefit Geneseo greatly to take a hard look at itself to improve.
