Very poor communication and program. No one was able to give answers, teachers are polite but poor academics.

Hawken certainly has a prestigious name, but sadly that is one of the only positive aspects of this school. I find that it is simply too expensive for most while delivering an extremely poor service. The school currently costs around 30000 per year. During my time at the upper campus, I found that the academic programs did not teach me any meaningful skills that helped me to perform well in the real world such as finance, critical thinking, professional writing, and government. While the school can certainly help you get into a prestigious college it offers little to know value in real learning or skills. Hawken cares little about making sure its alumni are gainfully employed and are far more interested in bragging about the prestigious universities that the alumni attended, their new construction project, or their latest "innovative" school programs. Make no mistake, this school is not doing anything that is hugely beneficial for their students. If they were, their students should be graduating with a myriad of real-world skills and outperforming students that attend other schools in the Cleveland area. Hawken will never give you any statistics on their students’ performance as they matriculate because if they kept those statistics, it would reveal their programs do little to give students real world skills. They also provide little to no data on how much debt their students take on to attend college, what field their employed in after college, and how much they are making. These statistics would reveal how ineffective Hawken School is at preparing its students for the real world. College guidance is poor as well. Students are given little to no information about selecting majors that will lead to gainful employment or financing your college education. I must question the ethics of the school as they are knowingly sending students into financial ruin by not giving them sound advice regarding college. The alumni office never offered me any help to find internships or jobs during and after college, but always managed to send me frequent letters, asking for more donations. The school certainly does have an environment that encourages academic achievement, but it fails in teaching meaningful skills. In the information age where you can learn about many of the topics I listed above for free, schools like Hawken are simply a waste of money. Save your money and avoid this overpriced school.

Really happy to send my kids to Hawken. My kids not only improve academically, also leaning social skills to interact with their peers, teachers, parents and the whole society..

Hawken School is one of the top college prep day schools in the Midwest. Very challenging academically with 100% four-year college matriculation to highly selective & Ivy League universities. The school also offers competitive boys & girls athletics teams, and is especially know as a powerhouse in swimming. Hawken isn't just focused on academics but on helping kids develop well-rounded experiences that build character. If a kid can meet their admissions standards & afford tuition, they will be well equipped for future success upon graduation.

Hawken's progressive programs are world-renowned. I'm very familiar with their cutting-edge entrepreneurial program. Not only does it teach kids the essence of business, its experiential, hands-on approach increases students' ability think critically, allowing them to not only find solutions, but to seek out areas where problems exist. The ability to apply learning to the real-world is critical to a student's growth, and is rarely seen in education. I've seen it at Hawken. Hawken is doing 21st century education right.
