I've recently became an alumni of this school and let me just say, that school has a lot of issues that needs to be fixed. There are more teachers who only teaches you how to memorize than teaches who actually want to succeed. It's overcrowded and the tardy rule, giving you ISS if you are tardy like 5 times, does not make any sense. It has come to the point where students would not come to class at all if they're tardy because they don't want ISS. The arts program is underfunded and yet, the school is getting more chrome books! The only parts I liked about Forestview was the band and the a quarter of the students. Other than that, the school is just eh.

We moved to this district from out of state. As parents, we were nervous for the transition for our child. The staff and teachers took him under their wings. His teachers have been amazing. He loves the school, teachers and his fellow students. We could not be happier with the education opportunities he is receiving in addition to how the atmosphere at the school.

I am a grandparent, and former busdriver-in different states-for schools, city, and state developmental group. My concern for Forestview is the transportation. Afternoon bus is always 30 -45 minutes late after dismissal at 3 p.m. to return the students home. This trend is just NOT accdeptable. It would appear the school does not see this as any problem as no changes have been made. Do we have a shortage of Drivers? Buses? transportation planning--school dismisal times to be adjusted--just what prevents the afternoon bus to arrive to pick up high school students usually 40 minutes after the 3 p.m.close of school? It looks like idle time for potential problems to happen on school property within the student body having to linger waiting to get home. Can we switch drivers around/according to other schools who dismiss earlier to insure Forestview H S students not waiting more than 10 minutes? Where do the drivers come from before getting to Forestview? I hope some improvements can be found before bad weather happens.,and that students remain safe. Lots of great things about the school but this transportation issue needs to be investigated. wish i could do something to help.

The academics are great! Even in the regular (not honors or AP) classes you learn so much! I was put in regular civics by mistake and passed the EOC in the 98th percentile. It wasn't a hard class, but the teacher made learning the material interesting. My biggest complaint right now is the choral program. After the original chorus teacher left, We have had two different chorus teachers and have had very inconsistent choral events. There have been no competitions since I've been here and the school musical had to be cancelled this year because the choral director was unable to teach the chorus the music in time for opening night. Overall, the school is very good. It is a little cliquey, but the cliques intermingle and are polite to each other for the most part.

My disappointment with Forestview is increasing, frankly, I am glad my youngest daughter will graduate this year. She had a math teacher who recommended students drop her course (in the first week) if they were struggling "because the pace would only increase" - no effort to coach or TEACH. She seemed interested only in her own success rating. Last year, a teacher refused to meet to discuss my daughters progress, telling me to go to her website if my daughter required practice work. Only a small core group of parents are engaged to support students/extracurricular activities. The principal now requires all evening programs to start at 6PM, difficult if you are a parent that works in Charlotte. School facilities are wonderful.
