Oak City has been a second home for my children and an extension of our family for the past 7 years. Each teacher and staff member is incredible and committed to leading children to Jesus while the whole child grows and develops into who God has made them to be. Incredible education proven by well above grade level test results. This is a place where children thrive and love to learn!

Oak City Academy’s blended model has been the greatest gift to our family in 2023. We homeschooled full time for 2 years leading up to this year. I feel like my first and second graders are thriving academically and socially at OCA. I also feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders on the academic side. I love the curriculum and everything about this program. I appreciate the amount of feedback that OCA asks for from me and my husband and I appreciate the overall structure of the school. I cannot say enough good things about this program!

OCA is everything you could ask for in a school plus more. At OCA your child is not just a number. Every child is seen as the individual God created them to be. Everyone at the school from the administration to the teachers cares for your child and wants to see them succeed. Their approach to education is a unique blend of Montessori and classical styles. We love that the students gets to learn at their own pace, while staying challenged. OCA focuses on fostering a life long love of learning rather than drilling information into the students. OCA is truly a blessing of a school!

My family has been at OCA for 2 years now with my young boys being in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Would could not love this school more or be more pleased with our children's "introduction to education." Despite the last 2 years being significantly impacted by Covid, my boys had AMAZING years. And most people I know did not. We do not take this lightly at all and are just so so grateful! The leadership and vision is just excellent. From the top down we have experienced an absolute excellence in education, a beautiful, vivid love for our Savior, and so much love and kindness it just does not seem real! We've only been at the school for 2 years, but I have yet to hear my boys say anything negative - at all. This amazingness trickles down to the students as well, and they are just so kind to each other! I live with my kids and I know they're not easy all the time, but the way their teachers LOVE them, KNOW them - their strengths and weaknesses, and respond with such encouragement and gentleness and kindness that my kids feel loved by them just blows me away. Thank you OCA!

I am a student in Middle School at OCA and have been at this school since elementary. OCA is a great school and it really feels like home. Our teachers are wonderful and focus not only on our academics but also on what is going on in our hearts. Our teachers strive to make learning fun, know us, and really do care for us. The students are all welcoming, and I highly recommend this school!

So grateful we came across Oak City Academy's website as we planned to transition out of the public school setting, but hadn't found anything that just felt "right" -- two years in and we can't imagine being anywhere else. Peaceful classrooms, a unique mixture of Montessori and classical education, and staff that love your kids like their own, while fostering the WHOLE child. Gone are our days of being a number in a school system -- my son comes home excited to tell me how he learned math, geography, read the Bible, cared for the class pet, watered the class plants, and weaved on the loom. The character-building and life skills practiced there are such a gift. Because OCA does not assign homework outside of school, we are able to spend more time together as a family and kids can spend more time just being kids! I am continually impressed by the level of communication from staff and leaders within the school - it is a true partnership. We are thankful to be part of the OCA community and to have finally found a school that values wonder over test scores.

OCA is all I could have hoped for in a school for my kids. Gospel saturated, authentic, loving, diverse, embracing of differences, supporting the flourishing of the whole child. My kids LOVE learning and love school thanks to OCA. They are so confused when neighbors kids are happy when school is cancelled! Why wouldn’t you love school!!?

My daughter who is 8 attends OCA and she loves and so do we. It's great to see her learn and come home excited to share what she's learned at her school. What has impacted me the most was the recent story her teacher shared with me. A student got in trouble and needed to go to timeout. My daughter raised her hand and asked if she could go to timeout for the student as well as write the long letter that the student who got in trouble was required to write, when asked why my daughter replied that she wanted to do for the student what Christ did for us. "Take our place". It brings tears to my eyes that she's learning what most adults haven't figured out and that's that life isn't about us, but Go's glory.

My daughter attends OCA and I was a little nervous at first because her old school she attended for 3 years and had such a great relationship not only with her peers but teachers and the principles. After the first day at OCA she said MOM! I don't ever want to leave OCA :-) OCA is a school where you know that your child is being loved and taught how to love and show Gods grace. My prayer is that OCA is blessed with all that is needed to keep the school going until Jesus comes :-) Thank you OCA!

I have two children at OCA, and they are both thriving in the Montessori classroom. The teachers are intentional with each child, determined to help them grow academically, spiritually, and socially. We feel privileged to be a part of this wonderful community.

This school is the only place where I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my son is being challenged academically, while nurtured and encouraged. He learns math, language science and more, but he also learns about the Sovereignty of God, and the grace of Jesus Christ. I cannot say enough about what a blessing this school has been for our family, and how much I believe in the mission, and the impact this school has on our community.

This is a fantastic school, making a real impact in the community! Great academic format, but also nurturing and truly invested in the lives of the students and their families.

After my daughter being in a public school and seeing her fall threw cracks because too many students in one classroom, and seeing for myself how when a child needs alittle more one on one from a teacher oak city has been a saving grace .I now see my child kamiree having confidence in herself because her needs are now being met in the classroom . It was the best referral that I could have been given ,her educational needs are met and the spiritual values and moral compromised for ne as a single parent .I am proud to say they are yhe best ,,,,

I have two children attending OCA who have very different personalities. The teachers do an amazing job to ensure that both of their academic and social development needs are met. We are so thankful we found OCA - it's a hidden gym in Raleigh!

This is my daughter's first year of attending school, and our family is privileged that our first experience has been with OCA. My daughter looks forward to going to school each morning and with seeing her progress we are looking forward to enroll our son next year. Currently, she has been learning her continents and has been sharing with us the different continents she wants to go tell people about Jesus. I believe having my children at OCA is one of the best places for education and community for our kids to be all God made them to be to leave their mark on the world!

I m thrilled with the vision Oak City Academy has for their students and the execution of that vision through the day-to-day teaching and interaction with the students. The administration, teachers and staff love the children well and want to see them thrive in their education and in life. OCA has a heart not only to educate children but also to bring racially and economically diverse people together to use their individual gifts and talents for the benefit of the OCA community as a whole. It does not get any better than Oak City Academy.

This school has been everything that I hoped it would be. They combine academics, creativity, social justice and Jesus in a real and beautiful way.

Oak City Academy is a school where the administration and teachers genuinely care about the students growth, not only in academics which are extremely important to them, but also character, personal skills and growing in working with others as well. The lessons learned by my children in how to relate to others has helped them to see our world in a different light. Very thankful for the teaching here!

I am a first year parent of an OCA student and have been thoroughly pleased with the progress my son has made since his enrollment. The curriculum is great. His personality is a great fit for the Christian Montessori environment. I look forward to the remainder of the school year because I know he is going to get more than just book knowledge but a life experience.

The teachers really love the children and are community oriented. They go out of their way to connect with the parents, ensure there are clear lines of communication, and they are tailoring the education to the needs of the child.
