My child used to love school. in fact loved Galion Primary. Unfortunately, with the new superintendent came a new policy where a few very disruptive and sometimes violent students were placed in regular classes. Learning ground to a halt. I have had several meetings with both him and the principal who are both very dismissive condescending. teachers and parents both are very unhappy, but I was told by the superintendant even though the are aware of the negative effects they feel it will help them bring up some score they have with the state. In essence how they look, is more important the the students education and safety. And there have been some major safety concerns. all in all, things are in chaos in the intermediate building with little hope of change coming soon

From my experience. . The vice principal and a few office members are very negative towards children and parents never no smiles or compassion for either... doesn't seem they like their jobs..Mrs Vous is a very good principal. . She consideration of the children and parents feelings seem to be her priority. .. we need more like Mrs. Vous. .she was very compassionate with my daughter and me with the adjustment of her first starting school with our feelings.. she's the best principal I have ever encountered:) need more like her...:)

Intermediate schools has a completely different atmosphere than the primary does. Not many smiles on staff nor students faces. It seems like the energy and enthusiasm that children usually have has been driven taken from the children. Yes, school does this to some children naturally but all you have to do is step into the primary building for a few seconds and you will see a completely different atmosphere. Teachers seem to distance themselves from the parents and seem to not want any direct communication nor any help in the classroom. The primary teachers had direct communication with the parents and sought out involvement and imput with parents in the classroom. The intermediate could learn alot from how the primary operates. The principal is a very wonderful person but you cannot soar with the eagles when you are stuck around a bunch of pigeons.
