Our son attends Lakeview Academy in the Lower school. There are so many positives here. His academic growth has been wonderful. The lower school principal welcomes all of the children by name from their first day of school. There is a strong sense of community at this school. Expectations are high and the academics are rigorous. We feel that our son is being prepared well for his future educational challenges.

If you are looking for a school with a football program that teaches the sport alongside respect and being a positive role model, this program is not for you. I've never heard more foul language and disrespect (even towards their refs) coming from student athletes. Shameful.

We had a wonderful experience at Lakeview Academy! With strong academics and varied activities for students to be involved in, our children were more than equipped for college. A warm family atmosphere, caring teachers and staff, and a safe environment are icing on the cake. New leadership is on track to take Lakeview to the next level.

Wonderful school for the past 10 years.

The school is overseen by a small group of families in the area. It is not diverse and not moving forward when there are so many other options available for families.

The Georgia Public Policy Foundation prepared and published (until 2011) an annual report card for Ga. schools. One criterion that they listed was the poverty rate for each school. This information was based on the number of children in the school who were on the free lunch program. Shockingly, most every public school in the area has a free lunch participation rate of 90% plus. Having grown up poor, I can say that my family would have eaten the bark off the trees before even considering being a ward of the state. I want my child to grow up around self respecting individualists who believe in self reliance. Lakeview offers this which is at least as important to me as the academics. Lakeview academics are sufficiently rigorous to prepare children for higher education. Love that the emphasis is on academics more than athletics.

This school has it all! Strong academics, accredited teachers, small class sizes, languages, art, drama, sports, technology and this is just in Kindergarten! My son has been attending since preschool and is now in 10th grade. This school prepares the student for college. Not just getting into college but staying in and doing well. This school has the best atmosphere for learning and building achievers. There isn't enough room in this review to truly go over the positive experience we have had sending our son here. Go to lakeviewacademy.org and find out!
