If you will notice that the previous reviews are very old and at one time this was a fantastic school. Our child attended AOI for 3 years and 2 summers. The 3rd summer they refused to allow her a tutor. She had 2 wonderful teachers and a couple wonderful tutors who helped her catch up and learn to read in the first years. However, once she entered high school things began to fall apart. 1) new administration. 2) book fees of $500 but gave students used books and workbooks. 3) New teacher with no background evidence of teaching nor certification. 4) teacher and principal bullying special needs kids. 5) parents and students accused of lying 6) staff talking about students and parents to other parents. 6) accepts SB10 scholarship but allows noncertified teachers or college students to teach. 7) no specific curriculum. 8) refused parents to see student progress. 9) board would not allow parents to have copies of classwork done on Google when requested. 10) refused to allow parents to see math book nor help student practice math. 11) falsified information about students and parents for self-reservation. 12) Students fell behind instead of moving ahead. 13) students being left on computers to be taught information that was not vetted properly and had inappropriate (sexual) content. 14) lazy teachers not doing their jobs (to teach). 15) student body max just over 40 kids: First student exodus was just after the new administration was appointed (around 8 students). The second exodus was the entire high school (minus one student) plus teachers and other students (approximately 15 o 20 people). The devastation the new administration and the board caused during the 2021- 2022 school year made a ripple effect throughout our town. Once being a huge fan of Ava White (founder), it has been very disappointing to see the negative change in the school. To see the negative reaction towards parents and students form Ava and her board just to protect the appointed administration is mind boggling. The new principal told parents she would always protect her teachers over students; well bullies come in adult packages too. When one door closes another will open. God's timing is amazing and most of the students found refuge at a brand-new school, Gainesville Preparatory School, where they are thriving!! It was sad to say goodbye to a school we all loved but "greater is he who is in us than he who is in the world"; God blessed our kids with better.

Oh child has been a student at Ava White Academy for going on 4 years. Since his enrollment, we have seen amazing progress. My wife and I have witnessed a marked improvement in not only his reading and math skills , but also in his self confidence. I would highly recommend Ava White Academy to anyone looking for a specialized and caring approach to learning.

My son was having trouble reading in a public school and for years my son struggled because the public school had no resources or programs that could help him understand how to read. I have never been so happy with a school that cares for each child. My son was one a child the hide in the corner and hated going to school. Now, my son loves going to school and his self confidence is through the roof! This is my sons first year at Ava White Academy. When my son started at Ava White Academy he was below kindergarten level in reading and the first year is not over yet and he reads at fourth grade level now. I drive a hundred miles a day so my son can go to this school and it is worth every mile. To see the light coming back in my son is priceless.

We have been thrilled with our child's educational and social improvement since enrolling at AWA! The Academy has wonderful teachers, kind students and a tailored curriculum that pushes the students to excel at their level of learning.

Working at Ava White Academy has been enlightening as a teacher. We are encouraged to do whatever it takes so every child can succeed.

Ava White Academy has done wonders for my son. We tried the regular public school system and he kept falling farther and farther behind. He hated going to school because he was bullied and picked on so much. He now likes school and is excited to learn. He is reading books on his own, which is something he didn't want to even try before.

Wonderful school!!!! Great class size, amazing teachers, very happy child! So lucky to have this resource available in this area.
