As a former alumnus of The Rock School, I am writing this review. I went here for about two years and I have to say, I learned quite a lot from most of my classes and teachers. Most of my teachers were very passionate about their job and cared a lot about the student's opinions and voices. But, in my 8th-grade year I was very angered and frustrated to have not one- but three different math teachers in one school year, one of them barely teaching us. While most of the students were kind, some students were unwelcoming and rude. I felt very alone and uncomfortable at this school and that I was being judged by everyone around me. As I Christian school, I expected more out of the students. I do love the unique teaching style each teacher has and the way they find a way to include God, but sometimes it felt like the way the teachers would word it or teach felt as if it was hard to follow God and that he would never accept me and I was never a good Christian because of all these rules and expectations. The 8th graders were also supposed to go on their final middle school field trip this year, but it never happened because they “forgot” to book the museum and the charter busses were too expensive, also because of the lack of students that didn't want to go. It saddened me that elementary school students go to go somewhere fun like Skate Station but the school still couldn't fit time for the middle schoolers to go on a field trip. Overall, I wasn't too pleased with this school and it is DEFINITELY not worth the $10,000 per child.

This school has changed our family's life in a positive way! The close knit community of staff creates a family-like environment that is the next best thing to homeschooling. The administration and staff is 100% hands on and is constantly researching and implemented new and improved ways of teaching and facilitating the smooth running of day to day operations. Teachers are positive when speaking about their students and model grace, forgiveness, while maintaining above average discipline in the classroom.

At a basketball game the visiting team, which was Trinity Catholic, was not individually introduced as is done by all other schools. We have attended 5 yrs of basketball games, and for some reason this is the only school that shuns their visitors. Our names were certainly not difficult to pronounce!!

I recently graduated for The Rock and it truly was the best experience for me. The teachers imparted so much more than just academic knowledge into my life. The helped me to become a good student, and they also demonstrated how to walk out a life that honors God. The administration loves each student and seems to always be looking for ways to improve the school for the benefit of the students and teachers alike. The Rock School is a wonderful place to be, and I actually miss being there.

THe Rock school has great teachers, a strong hard-working principal and vice principal, and a challenging academic program. Although I will never say any school is perfect and I have known some problems to arise, the comparison of this school to my children's prior public school is like night and day. No profanity, no teasing, no writing on bathroom walls, and only students that want to learn, care about grades that are respectful to teachers and parents exist here. Occasionally rules are broken but repeat offenders are removed from the school. The Christian guidance is great! Also as students graduate from the Rock, they clearly stand tall ready to face the world outside, unafraid of the future!

I emailed the school to ask if they were still enrolling. I sent a very nice letter almost a page. I got a one line response back telling me (the Principal) that he did not know if there was an opening and I just needed to stop by and get an application. No greeting, no closing. I was NOT impressed at all. And it is even a "Christian" school. What a dissapointment. It is very difficult to find a good school in Gainesville FL.

This is a truly amazing school. I am beyond pleased with The Rock and my children absolutely love it there. The teachers my children have had so far have been AMAZING! (dedicated, the highest quality, creative). There are high academic, behavioral and character standards. Also, for a smaller school, I was blown away at the quality of the sports program. There is also an atmosphere of peace, order and God's love on campus. I am so thankful for this school!
