Wonderful school environment. Safety and security is highly valued and taken seriously. Students are held to high academic and behavior standards. They are well staffed and have caring teachers. My children are challenged in their academics; supported when needed. They have amazing athletic opportunities that other diocesan schools didn't provide. The cafeteria offers a salad bar everyday as well as a variety of lunches my kids are excited to have. We've had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this school.

My child was bullied the hole year in that school. Not much was done about it. A lot was swept under the rug regarding race and favoritism. A small number of staff, actually cared about the well being of my child. The rest just followed a system.

The PreK program at St. Matthew is amazing! Our twins, Joseph and Isabella, started their learning with Mrs. Wilson and Sr. Paulina and had a wonderful experience! The teaching of the basic learning and beginning to deepen their faith was something we were looking for and received in full. We highly recommend the PreK program and all it has to offer in beginning the St. Matthew family journey!

Awful. I think this school has caused me to feel so much pain, even in my adulthood. I strongly discourage an child who wants to be an effective part of society from entering a classroom here as that’s when all individualism and creativity will be second guessed if not lost.

My kids love it at this school. We have 3 adorable kids here that are learning so much and growing well spiritually as well.

We love St. Matthew! Our children are surrounded by peers and teachers who have similar family values and religious beliefs, are engaged in service learning from a very young age, and are part of a rigorous and superior academic curriculum. St. Matthew stacks up against the best private schools in the area and at an affordable tuition. The only negative experience has been with the athletic program, which is lacking tremendously- and would be better served by a new athletic director.

I went to St. Matthews from 1st to 8th grade. I didn't know it then but the curriculum was very challenging. My freshmen year of high school was very easy compared to eighth grade and reminded me of my sixth grade year there. I also recieved an excellent faith education, as well as enjoying a great youth ministry at the parish. The technology is also excellent and get's better every year. The classes are small (about 70 per grade) and by our last year we were practically a family. A few teachers should definitely not be teaching, but the majority of them will be retiring soon. The new principal is a lot better than the old one with disciplining the students and the staff. Drawbacks include since it is a K-8 school, it feels extremely small by the time you are middl school aged. The 6-8 hall is actually smaller than the areas for the younger students. There are also lower school teachers and aides that seem to despise anyone higher than 5th grade, frustrating sometimes but we we mostly just laughed it off. They also continue to insist on sending us to "Technology" and "Media" classes but its really just a waste of time because we ended up teaching the teachers who never had a clue.

Overall it is very good school but there are definitely a few teachers that should not be teaching.
