My son and daughter have both attended Peak. The community is inclusive and staff is exceptional. I am beyond happy to have this option in our community. The focus on the whole student and flexibility to participate in all Summit County has to offer is most important to our family.

My son started at The Peak School in 10th Grade, and we wished we would have found this school sooner! We came from a small rural public school that didn't have many courses to choose from or a College Preparatory Advisor to guide students towards a post secondary education. The Peak School is small and is therefore quite in tune with each of the students' needs and habits, and allows for more personalized education. The teachers and staff are hand selected and are amazingly dedicated to the students' well being. The programs are unique and interesting and creative, making school a fun place to be and exposing the students to more real world experiences and "out of the box" learning opportunities. So much can be said about The Peak School, but all of it leads to the fact that it is a highly recommended educational choice that everyone in the area should explore!

The staff also really connects to the abundant natural resources and geography of Summit County. They encourage exploration of the rivers, mountains, and forests around us. This creates some really unique opportunities – like attending the Breckenridge Snow Sculpture competition to visit the team from China, or Mountain Day where they spent a day sledding and ice skating. Overall, we’ve been very impressed with the educational opportunities and caring atmosphere provided by The Peak School.

We love this school for our child. The teachers are amazing and truly care about the kids, they have a true passion for what they do. Our child has been able to excel with the small class sizes and with the one on one time he gets with his teachers. He is learning to advocate for himself as a student and feels comfortable talking to adults. The staff is always willing to take time for parents and students. He loves the outdoor education and trips they take into the community that help him relate to real life.

Admin at this school will say whatever they think you want to hear. They will accept students with learning differences and emotional needs that the school is not equipped to handle at all. This has a very negative impact on the overall learning environment. There are very few qualified educators in the building. It is a great place for a self directed, well-behaved student who would do well in public school--the majority of students do not fit that criteria There is no consistent behavior plan in place nor is there a curriculum that makes sense and can transfer to public schools. Great for those who know very little about education and just want their student to be coddled. Populated with entitled mediocre misfits.

We moved to Summit County to attend this school. It has been an excellent experience for our middle schooler. The classes are small, and the teachers are great.

My student LOVES school! I never thought I would be able to say that about her middle and high school experience. There is so much respect in this environment. Her voice matters and she has learned the skills to use it effectively!

My son has been at Peak for 4 years and I couldn't be happier, especially when I hear stories from parents of public school students.

My daughter was a new student last year and cannot get enough of this school. She loves the small class sizes, the personal and individualized attention, and the outdoor education opportunities.

We are new to the Peak Community -- but feel right at home with this incredible group of families. The school is focused on providing progressive education for our middle and high school students. The program blends robust academics, outward bound (camping and hiking, skiing, hut to hut snowshoeing) and social activities. Community leaders volunteer to teach various courses -- in art, psychology and public service.

The Peak School provides an environment where students can work at their own pace, explore and dive deep into topics of interest and truly expand their mind. It's a great option for a middle and high school in Summit County. My two children love the opportunities that they get at Peak!

The Peak School allows teachers to think outside the box and create fun, engaging and motivating lessons. Zero percent of our class time is spent preparing for state assessments, which is so refreshing! With such small class sizes, the learning opportunities to help students reach mastery are limitless.

My son went from bored to completely engaged in school. Sure, sometimes he still drags his feet. But, he takes ownership of his learning, his homework, his permission slips, everything. And the conversations we have a really rewarding. It's a great personalized and wholesome learning environment!

The peak school offers a unique and safe learning environment. Our children are thriving in a school where the curriculum focuses on experiential learning and concept mastery. Projects are very much student driven and our kids have embraced and taken ownership of this empowering approach to education. Teachers at Peak are kind, thoughtful and approachable coaches and mentors. We have found The Peak School to be a place of community and respect that is teaching life skills, far beyond the scope of a traditional classroom.
