Look, I suppose it’s not an absolutely horrible school, theirs some good teachers, but I absolutely would not recommend it. The hallways are always loud, teachers really don’t care, and there’s a teacher here, while a few, but specifically this one who favor some kids over others, and yelled at my friend for asking to go outside, and kicked someone out for asking to go to the bathrooms. Maybe they had reasons. Idk. But the teachers really don’t care much, although there are like 3 really good ones. Learning is not that good, and our schools MCA grades our horrible. If possible, try and put your child in a much better school

This is the school I currently go to and all I have to say is that I get body shamed, bullied and harassed, what did the school do?! Nothing, nothing at all. Last year someone threatened to jump me but the school did not even care. I can't learn in this school all I hear is yelling. If your want your child to be safe don't bring them here they will get pulled in a fight for no reason, THIS SCHOOL IS NOT GOOD!!!!

If you are really interested in your child's education, never send him here, it's a wild jungle! there is no control over the students...

(I was a student in this middle school I'm in sophomore year now)homework was always stuffed in our facesthere's a small amount of teachers in this school that are amazing but there's more teachers that really need to be firedleadership was kind of a thing and was always talked about.the only thing that this school gave was in the character stage was being tough not compassionate or respectable.i cant really remember anything about being different with learning we all kinda suckedas for bullying there was countless times were ive seen bullying and women in this school getting harassed. the teachers are more of the bully's

My children have had great support from the amazing staff at the middle school. They have worked hard to make sure that kids are getting what they need during 2020 distance learning, and teachers have a personal approach with the kids that I haven't seen at larger schools. I absolutely love the teachers at this school.

Our students attended FMS for 5th-8th Grade. The administrative staff listened to parents and students. Allowed students to advocate for themselves in the area of their education. The students 7th-8th Grade have the ability to participate in middle school or varsity level sports depending on their skill level. All students at the time had the ability to participate in an excellent theater program. The building is filled with diversity in the student body and the staff is growing in that area too. They have great support systems in place to help students develop in education, but also socially and emotionally.

Staff are horrible. They are bullies themselves.

I worked in this school in the late 90s. The principal did not have high standards of kids then, and it is obvious that the school still does not have standards of kids now from the other reviews. Thank God that M. Leibfried is retired and gone. Hopefully the school will get under control.

This school is a joke! My child is being bullied and has been sexually harassed, when I make my voice heard I am treated as if my child is to blame! I have made multiple attempts to address the issues and all I am told is they cannot accommodate my requests to have parent mediation/meetings... My child leaves class to avoid the bulling and receives referrals for truancy, meanwhile the bullies get their hands held! Absolutely absurd!

My child is being bullied daily & was told by two teachers to "ignore them." I guess it's easier for them than having to deal with children who are a problem. There is a genuine lack of caring & respect. There are fights weekly & police officers on site. High school students drive in the parking lot with a blatant disregard for all traffic and safety laws and no one cares despite several phone calls. The whole school system is a circus. Absolutely ridiculous. They are more concerned with being PC than being educators.

Granted it's middle school, however they have a large group of students bused in who are rude and awful. Their way of handling seems to be to have empathy for the person who's doing the bullying because of their home life, rather then to take care of the child who is bullied.

I really like the principle and the teachers. They respond well and in a timely manner if I had any concerns. The students are a little more rough than what my son was use to, but then again it's middle school- it will only get more rough. I feel this school has done a very well job with helping my son adjust to his first year of middle school, and making sure staying in communication with me about his grades.

Fridley Middle School is the best school out of all schools, in my opinion. I attended FMS 2011-2013, I loved it so much that I decided that I'm going back for the year of 2014-2015. The teachers, and staff are so great and kind. They make you feel very welcome. And the students also. The students make great friends to talk to, and hang out with. I haven't been to a school better then Fridley Middle School. I love FMS so much!

The teaching staff is wonderful bunch that are really honest and communicative if you as a parent are active in your child's education. I do enjoy the school but I do not care for the students there, I believe their handling of undisciplined students are too light and could be detrimental to other students learning. I am pulling my student out of this school due to her getting tied into the wrong crowd, I have heard of bullying also among other students. They should have more stringent penalties for students misbehavior on bullying and offer a better learning environment for all students.

FMS is a great school. I have found that to get the results and answers you want, you have to be a very involved and active parent in your childs education, from academics to sports to bullying issues YOU have to be responsible yourself and take action by physically going to the school and seeking that help. My Son has been bullied here BUT I have not ever had a problem with it being resolved with some type of disciplinary action being taken because I push for it, I AM THE PARENT, it is my job to ensure my child is safe at school and if all I were to do is report it and not follow-up, I too would probably not see results, but I am active and involved in every step of the way of my childrens lives.

My grandaughter is being bullyed at your school if one child is being bullyed its one to many. She has been pushed around and told to go home and kill herself and many other horrible things. You fix is to have the bully say "I'm sorry" believe me this does not help. There is no consequence for the bully and it continues, I dont want her to come home crying every day or say she doesnt want to go to school. DO SOMETHING NOW!
