Baird has no academic requirements to be accepted, but must maintain a 2.0 to stay, for most 5th graders going from 1 class to 8 is an adjustment. Baird does not allow 1 year to adjust, if your child falls below a 2.0 in any two quarters they are dropped. When trying to dispute my child's transfer being revolked the VP informed me that Baird does not provide basic resources in Math or English that other schools can provide. So it was in my child's best interest to return to their home school. Most parents know that 4th grade is the cut off for students to be held back. So no matter what FUSD school your child is in and no matter what school they attend FUSD will pass them on to the next grade regardless of the students grades. So basically Baird has no resources and aren't willing to be the school to pass your child on to the next grade without a 2.0. They don't care how this affects the students that have adjusted well to the structure, made new friends, made the sports teams, has good attendance, doesn't have any behavior issues.. if your student struggles a little in English or Math, Baird can't help them. This decision has devastated my child and Baird does not care, they only care about maintaining students that have 2.0 or above.

This school made my daughter become paralyzed in the legs because of bad supervision on field trips. They offered to put her in the special education class and we tried it but she complained about it and we left the school.

I went to Baird for 4 years, I would never ever send my child to this school after what I experienced. From the beginning of 5th grade all the way to 8th grade, They say they have a zero bullying policy. But in my experience, they did not enforce these rules hard enough. At this school I experienced racism, homophobia, and much more discrimination by the students. Staff stopped believing me and told my parents it was me overthinking the bullying. The teachers were amazing and love their students. Though a select few are not supportive and rude. Many things were swept under the rug. While the academics and teachers are amazing, your child will form meaningful friendships, it' wasn't a good experience for me at this school. Baird please do a better job at supporting your students. But no I do not recommend your child goes to this school unless they have reformed their rules.

In my honest opinion, I'd rate this school 3/5. I liked it to a certain extent. It had its pros and cons, like any other school would have. There were some nice teachers & fellow peers who have helped shaped me as a person, but the way the school deals with their homework situation stressed me out too much that I had to move schools for a better pace. Sorry, Baird. =(

The administaration team is lazy, you don't learn anything here, and when you get in trouble once being a good student they all turn against you. Would NOT recommend this school.

My Daughter has been going here since 5th Grade. It has pushed her with her home work very proud she has pulled off Honor roll all of the four years. Teachers are tough but push in a very strong and loving way. My youngest did not make it in in 5th grade. We reapplied in sixth grade shes in, Yea. Its a little tougher for her but she is being pushed with home work and im loving the results. I can say with having my son at Tenya it was the correct fit for him with his friends. But I wouldnt change back to Tenya after experiencing Baird. Its not for everyone give it a chance you wont regret it. Bob

This was the worst school I've gone to! The teachers are bullies, they have 4 classes a day that are two hours long with a 30 minute fun class and a 15 minute lunch break. I wouldn't recommend any child going to school here because if your bullied they just say "noo not baird kids" and walk away because they think baird is the perfect school!

This school is one of Fresno's best kept secrets. Outstanding students and parent involvement. Standards are very high in regards to academics and behavior expectations. None of the nonsense, fights etc. that you hear about at other middle schools. Students take Gate classes and Pre-AP setting them up for Honors and AP classes in High School. Tremendous staff that is actually invested in EVERY student.

I went to Baird Middle for 4 years. The teachers are absolutely fine. They will kid around with you and such. When it comes to getting in trouble once everyone would go against you. The higher staff is extremely fake. The smart people can tell that they don't care what you do they just act everything out. Its just a job, nothing more. No one is simply smiling all the time. When you do something bad they will roll your eyes when you walk by. I am highly ashamed to have been part of this school. Teacher were great, obviously that doesn't matter. Too snobby and they think they are better. The kids there are unkind and they say they are all a family. Nobody has told me such a lie in my life.

If your a caring parent DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!! The staff are EXTREMELY rude, patronizing and uncaring. This school should have an investigation on majority of the staff but mostly all the office staff. I have been argued with hung up on numerous occasions. Allbecause they "are right" you as a parent are wrong. Even holding medical forms and medication!!! They held my sons on more than one occasion. They also argued my sons name . Refusing to listen to me on how he has a 2 part last name . Everytime i had to pick him up they had me waiting 20 minutes or more because they would call another student every time. Then laugh as though its a joke. His teachers also go by their own set of rules one refused to fill out a medical form he needed because "she was too busy" . Do not speak to anyone unless u record it tape copy n paste just get your proof. You will need it.
