My son has had an incredible experience here. The school has a challenging curriculum, caring teachers and all of the band/music/art programs here are outstanding.

Test scores are very high and would you expect for Wilco schools. Staff and Faculty are amazing and helped my child grow significantly from her prior school. Highly recommend FIS, check out their youtube videos

FSSD has such great schools, this isn't one of them. If you are able to avoid I would. Especially if you have a child with special needs.

This school was not great for my student. There are teachers who treat students unfairly, and my concerns, when given to administration, were minimized and denied. The academics are okay, and she did well in her honors classes; but ended up hating academic areas that she once thrived in and loved because of poor teacher/s.

I would avoid this school if possible. My child did not enjoy the first year. We gave the benefit of the doubt since it was during the pandemic. Now it’s the beginning of the second year and now realize that is just the way it is at FIS. Everyone says you just have to make it through... It’s just 2 years. But why? The other schools in this district are great. This one is the exception and it needs a major attitude adjustment and lesson in kindness. Some teachers are ok, some are horrible and should not be teachers with children.

I wanted to give the teachers some grace since it has been such a challenging year but they don't seem to do that for the kids. All of my child's teachers seem to hate their jobs or not like children, which makes me think it is the normal culture in this school. Trying to have a discussion with the teacher is met with condescension and trying to discuss issues with administration falls on deaf ears.

The honors track at FIS has been a great opportunity for my child to learn in an engaging, challenging atmosphere. The arts are celebrated at this school and students are given opportunities to participate in many extracurricular clubs, sports and classes. The teachers are "all in" and try to make FIS spirited, fun and supportive.

My children had a horrible first day at this school. There is extreme harassment, racism and the classes are not divided well. My son even had his backpack stolen and flushed. I am in the process finding a new school for the kids now.
