My son has attended this school since Kindergarten, and I have loved watching his growth and progress over the years. The teachers and staff at this school are caring and knowledgeable. This school is diverse and full of enthusiastic learners. He has made many friends and has not had any issues with bullying. The work he brings home is rigorous and based on Indiana Standards. There are a variety of extra curriculars available, something not always seen in an elementary school. Students learn how to handle their emotions and how to deal with others. There is a cross country team, boys basketball, girls basketball, robotics club, Math Bowl, Club Orchestra, and Club Kid-O (Jr Orchestra). I would recommend this school to other families!

As a parent I look at not just the coursework, but the teachers. While there are some "iffy" teachers there are way more who are actively involved with their students, and parents. There's a large ELL group at this school, but it doesn't seem to slow the classroom down. I've witnessed several children who did not speak more than 20 words in English progress to fluently conversing by the end of the year. While after school activities lack, you cannot surpass the feeling of community you get here.

My daughter attended another school last year and now my son attends Kindergarten and my daughter is in the 1st grade at Waynedale Ele. I am not sure if I'm more disappointed in the school or the other parents. The class sizes are very large...24 in the K class and 25 in the 1st grade. Many children at this school aren't taught at home how to behave. I feel that this causes the teachers to have to focus on 'enforcing' rather than teaching. Also, I was very excited to have them attending a biophysical magnet school, but to my dismay, when I visited their 'equipment room,' it was all adult exercise equipment. Having a degree in Exercise Science, I know that children as young as elementary age should not be using weights and that exercising on adult size equipment poses a very high threat to injury. I'm just overall disappointed here.
