EAU is organized around a Vincennes University associates degree model. It is a dual credit HS and somewhat rigorous but your student will have a two year degree upon graduation if they complete the classes or they can graduate with their high school diploma. It is not to be confused with an traditional high school that also offers AP courses. There are clubs and groups led by teachers but no organized IHSAA athletic teams. Our son had a good experience at EAU and is in his second year of college only 2 semesters from a bachelors degree.

Teachers are transphobic and do not engage with students (except for a select few, like the English teachers). The environment is not supportive and not organized in a way that is user-friendly. I faced lots and lots of discrimination for being transgender at this school, and felt severely outcasted and looked down upon. The majority of teachers here are extremely unfriendly and unhelpful and leave you confused as to what the goal of the lesson was for. The environment is unfriendly and gross. The ceilings leak and there are buckets littered throughout the school. They expect way too much out of freshmen work-wise. The math assignments are RIDICULOUSLY long and make students feel unmotivated. There are also no windows which is a fire hazard.

EAU can be beneficial for any high school student mainly because it offers a lot of college opportunities, way more than any other high school. You can receive your associates degree which is 60 credits, along with a high school diploma. (I ended up with with about 69/70 credits and went into college as a jr.) Overall, I highly recommend EAU to anyone.
