This school might be the worst elementary school in this district ! They do NOT take bullying or physical violence serious and just ignore it. My child was bullied by the same boy and physically assaulted by several time, happened in front of staff members, other students reported it and still NOTHING was done! It’s been brought to all admin staff and still nothing is done! DO BETTER!!

Nice school but need to focus on bullying. Also some children have allergies to certain foods, likes, dislikes. Parents never know what their child is eating for lunch because the menu is changed all the time. Not fair to the children who expect something for lunch and then get something else!

Covington Elementary is a top notch elementary school! The principal is truly one of a kind and makes sure to get to know all students and families. It’s been such a positive experience the past 7 years that we’ve been here, and I can’t speak highly enough about this school. Both of my kids are soaring from their academic experience!

Teachers are very kind to students and parents, and are very orginized

Anyone whose kids attend Covington will tell you that this school is certainly a 10 in our book... absolutely excellent teachers, an amazing music program (each class has a musical every year and they're all great!), and Mr Graf, the principal, connects with each and every child - not a small feat on this large school. I absolutely love Covington, and agree with another reviewer that if the alpha kids didn't get moved to Aboite, the overall test scores here would be higher - bringing the overall grade to the 9 or 10 it absolutely deserves.

I was disappointed to see a 7 rating for this school. It deserves a 8 or 9 and aboite elementary should be the one getting a 7. All elementary school students who opt into the alpha program get bussed to aboite which then in turn brings there testing scores. It a political BS move within the school system. If all alpha kids stayed at there own schools I'm pretty sure aboite elementary would get about a 6 rating.

Covington Elementary is a fantastic place to be an involved parent and an even more fabulous place to be a student. It has a large student population, but it never feels like that as the staff, particularly the principal, seem to know us all by name and treat us like family. I find the staff to be very friendly, knowledgeable and I can't think of a better place for my children to begin their educational careers. The open door policy (with a background check on file) allows for me to volunteer in my children's classrooms or work in the teacher workroom as much as my schedule allows.

The only complaint I have is that they completely rearrange the students every year. My son is in the 2nd grade and only has 1 kid in his class that he has been with before. He is shy and is just starting to make new friends when the school year is over. Then he goes to the next grade and doesn't know anybody. The process starts over. However, the academic environment is as close to perfect as I could imagine.

This school is awesome!!! My oldest child attended for 2 years and she loved it. The staff is friendly, the school is neat and clean, and the principal is so nice. I couldn't ask for a better school for my children.
