Springfield has been amazing for my child. He has delays in many areas and the administration at Springfield goes above and beyond. This school is frozen with over 900 kids and the staff handles it nicely. Many teachers leave to stay on with their kids or retire after teaching for years. They don't leave this school for other schools unlike the last reviewer posted. The school is ranked in the top 15 elementary schools in SC every year even though the population is a lot of lower income households. They love all the students and work hard to treat each as an individual

The current administration is a step down from previous one. Mr. Fantone is not interested in mediating any issues once he has set his mind to something. He is not interested in preventing problems, only punishing students. We have lost many fantastic teachers to other schools in district because of him and it reflects in the lack in engagement and lack in challenge students receive. There is no interest in trying to place students in situations that encouraging them to succeed. Our family is hoping when the new school is done we will be redistricted.

My son was discriminated against in this school. The teachers assistant took my son to the bathroom and took pictures of his clothes and shoes. He is only 5 years old. I could tell that something was not right because he didn't come home with anything showing that he'd actually done work in class. He decided to come out and tell me what the teacher's assistant did. I not only blame the teachers assistant but I also blame the teacher. She knew that my son was missing because it was his first day. Why didn't she correct the issue and report the assistant? My son did no work at all that day.

I have a 1st grader and 3rd grader. The teachers have been wonderful for both of my children. My daughter has been on honor roll 2 years in a row and participates in Environmental Club. The PTA rocks and puts together wonderful family activities. I could not be happier!

We moved here from NYC. As any parent we did our research and what attracted us to the Fort Mill area is the school district. I'm so happy and thankful to be able to provide our girls with such an amazing team of teachers. I went from my 6 year old struggling last year needing extra help , to now being in the honor roll 3 times!! Unfortunately due to the popularity of this city our daughters had to get re-zoned. However the positive impact that this wonderful school had on my girls , will take with us forever!!

Our daughter has attended Springfield Elementary School for 3 years now, and we have been very pleased with the results! The curriculum turns a bit more challenging in the 2nd Grade, but the work keeps her engaged. The teachers have been wonderful, kind, caring and supportive. We love this school!

It should be known that Springfield elementary is not equipt to handle children wtih learning differences. Their approach to specialized instruction is like a boxed lunch. It is a one size fits all mentality. If you are not within the larger than usual gifted population -take a look at the national average, (it kind of dilutes the purpose of gifted and talented) be prepared to have your child feel inadequate. They are incredibly strict to the point were it inhibits creativity and critical thinking. It is a shame that this has been our experience that has been echoed from not only me, but many other parents that do not write on this site. Think long and hard before you consider this school. We are putting both of our children in private school even though it is a financial stretch. That is how intolerable it is for our family and the erosion of our children's love of learning. The bottom line, this school is not well rounded from our perspecitive. your experience may be completely different if your child's ability to score well on the PASS makes them look like a GREAT SCHOOL for funding and reputation that does not tell the whole story.

I have 3 kids in Ft Mill, District 4. My youngest started Kindergarten at Springfield and is now in 4th grade. I have always found her teachers to be well-trained and compassionate. Her teachers keep her engaged and push her to be her best, academically AND socially. Children are tested to national standards and expected to be responsible for their own behavior. Kids have plenty of opportunities for civic involvement. Never heard of bullying at SFES, but communication skills are learned largely at home!

Many rude teachers at Springfield that do not seem to care about teaching. The school is not responsive to bully problems. Teachers put children in charge to monitor their classrooms. Springfield is a disappointing school in an area with a reputation of good schools. It should be known that there are some bad apples in this barrel
