I have 2 kids at FRCS, 5th and 8th grade. They're each have very different learning styles, and they are very different socially, but they both feel excited to go to school everyday. They've made some great friends at the school, and they both feel extremely comfortable approaching teachers and staff. They're appropriately challenged in all subjects (strong math and science programs!), and they love the many elective options (choir, band, sewing and so much more!) and sports programs (including their gorgeous new baseball field!). On top of all that, FRCS is this beautiful 10-acre campus, where the kids get to be in the fresh mountain air, away from the smog of Chico. Plus, the school has a FREE bus that picks them up in Chico and drops them off everyday. I can't imagine what more we could ask for. I highly recommend parents make the 15 minute drive up to the school to check it out. It'll be love at first sight!

I have had all 4 of my children attend FRCS and have been very happy with it. It is a small-town environment, with alot less restriction than the school we were assigned to in Chico. It has some room for improvement with academic expectations, but the people and the 'feel' of the school make up for it.

I have two kids in Forest Ranch Charter school and it is a school based on the individual needs of children. There are smaller class sizes with parent helpers that are constantly challenging the children in academics and useful life skills that aren't normally taught in public schools. The community supports the progress of the school and the school is ran by the community and parents. This school is everything I want a school to be for my children and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to better the overall education and well being of your child.
