Most of the teachers are really nice and teach really well. I think it's the discipline that's a problem. All the vice principle seems to do during a situation in whichever children are getting bullied is basically have an interview with the kids involved and go with the side of the story that has the most people. She doesn't go with the facts. I don't think ISS and lunch detention is enough. If there is bullying then they should send them to a juvenile hall or expell the child. This school could do a lot better .

I am very disappointed with FMS. My daughter is in 7th grade and her academic level has dropped drastically since she entered this school. The discipline policy at this school is a joke. The only way they discipline the children is by giving them lunch detention, in school suspension or suspension, and from my understanding, lunch detention and ISS is just time for the kids who are in "trouble" to goof off. As for suspension, most parents do not care that their child was suspended and the child just enjoys their time out of school. My daughter tells me that they do not use text books, only the smart board. Now I understand why she is not learning anything. How can you learn from looking at a smart board all day and not using your books for reference. She NEVER has homework, which makes me wonder what these teachers are doing to "teach" these children. Again, I am extremely disappointed with FMS and am seriously considering sending my children to a private school to give them a chance to get a good education, which is something they will never get in Brooke County Schools. The only person that pays attention to the children at FMS is the Assistant Principal, Nancy Deeters.

Look at the test scores and you'll see how this school rates. They care more about rules than instruction. The teachers spend to much time worrying about whos chewing gum or has cell phone on them than actually teaching. The also have a huge discipline problem. My child was bullied and they didnt nothing about it after reporting it numerous times the only comment I got was I dont know what you are talking about. So when kids take matters into their own hands and end up in a fight they expel them. The teachers are allowed to name call the students and use intimidation as a means of discipline. I would not EVER send my child to this school.
