I'm a student at this school. My brother went here and we can both agree, do not go here. The teachers act like the money is more important than our education. And a couple years ago, someone mad mustard gas and there's none of those vents that lead outside. Overall I'm sad for me and anyone else who had to, or is, experience(ing) this

My experience at Rector A. Jones is going good so far. I would like to say the teaching is mediocre. Kids are poorly behaved, discipline is pretty decent. The lunch is sometimes not cooked all the way( Hamburgers, Cheese burgers etc.) My hamburger was 1/4 pink. Overall it was gross. Besides that, lunch was really good. The hallways are always crammed up with kids, you can barely walk. My bus, is a double run. Mostly, people have to sit in the isle and the emergency exit. (Very unsafe) Fights happen daily, for very childish reasons.

I hate this school so much, like you cant even open up to teachers or anyone they just tell you to go back to class, and most of the principal's are annoying and never listen

This school has supportive, caring, and compassionate educators who are dedicated to their students. Many students are from diverse backgrounds. ELL and Special Education students are adequately serviced.

I am am alumni of this school, I can honestly say I would never want my children going to this school! I was bullied, drugs were easy and assessable to obtain, the teachers don't care if your struggling to catch on, they will yell at you if you ask for extra help so you can understand they won't give it to you. I've had teachers and principles body shame and make fun of you. I would compare it to Matilda, if i had to give you an overall idea of how they work. Students are disrespectful, they bully, you'll be finding your child getting into fights every day over something new with no adults jumping in to Try to solve the issues or care for that matter. I would NOT recommend anyone take their child here.

I’m a student at this school, and as a colored person, this school is racist, I have been a bullied and picked on for the color of my skin. I receive poor education, as teachers have told my whole class we are behind in several lessons, compared to the rest of the school in this district.

Poor communication between teachers and parents. The staff can pick and choose what they feel is acceptable dress code but gives poor explanation to when questioned by parents. The sports programs needs improvement. I feel the school should focus more on improving things like test scores, bullying issues, incentive programs for students. Overall its just a very negative experience!

I went to this school my 6th, 7th, & 8th grade year. I have always loved R.A Jones. In the years I have been there I notice that there are a select few teachers and students that do not put forth their one hundred percent effort. From 2010 to 2013 there was an increase every year in test scores, and a decrease in behavior problems. 99.9% of the teachers at the school go above and beyond to work with the students and make scantron tests, star tests, and class tests. There is little bullying involvement and everyone at the school no matter how much they say they hate it will realize that it was one of the best times of their lives and wad a huge milestone. Everyone is family at Rector A. Jones Middle and I highly recommend enrolling your child at that school. Class of 2013 <3

this school's scores remain very low. test scores are not everything, but they are objective. I contacted the principal to express concern over the scores, and he basically blamed the "transient" students for tanking the scores. He said that if you carve those students out, the school's scores are great! What?! No more excuse-making. If you get transient students, then meet them where they are and help them get up to speed, implement aggressive interventions and whatever you can with the extra money you get from Title I funding. Stop blaming the kids.
