The atmosphere in this school is amazing. The front office staff is so friendly and down to earth and I've never seen a more compatible Principle and Vice Principle. This is their first year at this school so I look forward to all the amazing positive changes that will be made. Although the test scores have been somewhat low in the past, I do feel that overall the staff and administration are doing wonderful things at this school.

My child has been attending Loyd E Auman since kindergarten. We Love it! Any concerns we may have they fix them right away. Great activities and awards ceremonies. Excellent parent involvement. Zero tolerance for misbehavior.

I have 2 children attending this school. Next school year it will be 3. My oldest began this school in the 1st grade. Since the beginning, the teachers have all been very forthcoming with grades, ways to improve and always offered additional assistance. I will say her 3rd grade year was a difficult one, not due to grades, she's been on either the A/B Honor Roll or A Honor since 1st grade, but lack of experience for that particular teacher. Once I had a few "hearts to hearts" and mother to teacher visits, things went a bit smoother. Her 4th grade teacher Ms McNair, I must say went over and above for her students. She never had a problem with emailing me my daughter's grades, or any upcoming projects due or even if she felt like my daughter was slacking, you better believe there would be an email in my inbox. She's one of best so far.

The school rating is a D. There is no way I want my child attending a school that's below average. They harass your child, send your child to other classrooms because the teacher doesn't want to deal with them, they hold your childs wrist while walking if he or she is in trouble, it's jus terrible. The principal doesn't know anything about running a school properly. The teachers classroom are over capacity and your child can't get the proper education they are suppose to be receiving because the teacher gets side tracked. They gossip all around the school in front of the children as well. If some of the parents took the time to go visit they would be upset. I received phone calls everyday saying another child put hands on my child and the student got a warning but when my child defended himself they sent my child across the school and everything. This school does not put the children first it's all about the staff. It's unprofessional and I jus wish the board would do some unexpected visiting.

I had two children attend this school for 2 years before moving them for Spanish Immersion for a younger sibling. One thing that definitely stands out is the Principal and her efforts to reward academic achievement. My children performed at a higher level at this school compared to what they're doing now because of the motivation the school provides. They are recognized for both math and reading achievements and honor roll students are further recognized. It encourages children to reach that goal for the rewards. The school we're at now does little for accelerated mathn compared to this school. Also, the principal saw my children over a year later and surprisingly remembered their names and which teachers they had. My children were very fond of their teachers. A great, encouraging elementary school.

We are EXTREMELY PLEASED with my son's school, (Loyd E. Auman Elementary School) a BIG thanks and KUDOS goes to the exceptional children teachers( Mrs. Jacobs and Mr. Howard) for their hard work, time and effort with assuring our special needs / exceptional children get the direction, education, love and understanding that is required in order for them to be great achievers . Our son entered the class just this year. We truly can say that our son is exceeding in every angle possible thanks to the teacher and us the parents working together as a team to meet that mutual goal. Also, we would like to say we appreciate the admin staff, and everyone that makes up this GREAT School.

I am extremely disappointed with my son's teacher. He is special needs. The teacher told me how bad he was on several occasions and with other kids in the room and in front of him. Once he gets a red start there is no chance to gain back a green star. Very discouraging for a child! We are in the process of trying to remove him. My son came home with bruises on his face and body because of a theraputic hold and teacher denies this and also that she administered it even though her assistant said that she was infact doing it. When we went to the princepal the next day and asked for documents about the bruises she told us to have our attorneys subpoena school for them. I could go on and on about this, we are extremely unhappy. She might have won several awards but she has only shown us how unprofessional she really is. However, Mrs Mildred at the front desk and Mrs Barefoot are the nicest ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Wish there were more people like them on this planet!
