All 3 of my children have attended Alderman Road and had great success. My oldest started there in 5th grade and I wish we had moved there sooner! My middle child went from Kindergarten through 5th grade and my youngest is now about to start 1st grade after starting there last year. We have had zero issues and would recommend this school and this community to everyone!

We have been at Alderman Rd since Pre-K and have loved everything about the school. From the Principle to teachers to the PTA have been great. We are about to start our 1st grade year and have high hopes for the future.

I have absolutely loved all of my child's teachers, some more then others but they have all been very helpful when it came to homework if I was confused and didn't know how to help my daughter. They took care of her in the office when she was sick. She lost her library book a few times and everyone came together and helped locate it. We had a bully issue that didn't last long, after speaking with her teacher she acknowledged the problem and took care of it and never had another problem. The principal is wonderful. She cares about the children like they are her own! I would absolutely reccommend this school to take your children too!

It was a nightmare! We had to pull our child, homeschool, and seek a psychologist to help repair the damage done. Our child has social anxiety and we were open and willing to work with the school to help make the school experience enjoyable, but were met with opposition and outright defiance on the staffs part. The more we tried to work with them, the more they made things difficult for our child at school. Segregating and abandoning him in the library, leaving him alone in the classroom, putting him in the hallway, and constantly sending him home because the "didn't know what to do with him." Funny, his other teachers had never had a problem working with him and us. This school needs a new principal and a complete overhaul of support staff. They are driving away good teachers and the children are suffering.

My daughter went to Alderman Road Elementary School for half of kindergarten. It seemed more like a day care compared to her previous school. The teachers were nice whenever I was in there, but my daughter told me that they are always mad. First grade is pretty much the same for her. She said the teacher is always mad and yells at them. I also feel like I had to teach her all of the material over again once she got home because she had no idea what was going on. I think the school definitely needs to reevaluate their teachers and teaching methods. The only thing they really have going for them is that the school itself is really nice looking. Other than them testing positive for lead in the water and having water jugs spread out all over the school.

I have had to speak with the principal many times about the way the teachers approach not just my child, but other children. A group of moms are trying to transfer out of this school. Last year we had the option due to the test scores being so low. If we are able to again, obviously, it is the principal and her teams she has made up not being able to communicate the lessons to the kids.

Aside from other reviews, my children have had wonderful teachers and so far a great experience at Alderman Rd. Elem! My son is in pre-k & has the most incredible 2 teachers & my daughter has been there for 2 years (now in 3rd grade) & has also had positive, encourage, understanding & helpful teachers! The staff is friendly, the office staff is great & I like the 'feel' (I've not had to deal with directly) of this principal more than another school attended in this area. I feel like the principal is more available & around & interacting than the last Grays Creek school we attended. I also visit the school & volunteer frequently & they are open to parents being involved & encourage that.

My daughter is in Kindergarten and I have to say that I have had the most horrible experience there. The aide runs the classroom that my daughter is in, not the teacher. . It took a couple of months for the principal to contact me back about a situation. I have never heard from the asst principal. She sent home a slip saying my daughter had one more warning before she was kicked off the bus. I had sent her a email message asking why wasnt I informed about this the first time, so that we would of never have gotten to this point. I called her numerous times. The only time she tried to return my call was 9pm on a Sunday evening. Of course I wasnt available, but she left me a message telling me she would be out of te building for the next two days. . I am a teacher as well, and when I discipline students I always think about how I would want my child to be treated in this situation. Teachers are worked hard and paid even less, but that gives you no right to slack off with the children or treat them negatively.

This school is not good. They do not care about the childrens well being and the principals do not return phone calls unless you call the board. The teachers are uninformed or at least say they are.
