Ok. This school, I cannot deny, has its ok moments. The special education department is fantastic. However, this is about all I can say that is good. Teachers do not respect IEP plans for special needs students, and are very, very disrespectful to those with disabilities. In addition, students here, with almost no exception, are horrid, bigoted, hateful people. Unless you are a cis, heterosexual, white person, students WILL direct discrimination and hate to you. In addition, they are some of the most immature people I have ever known. This is a given however, as Fairview township is primarily a rich, white town, so racism is rampant. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE EXACTLY LIKE THEM!!! It is a nightmare here. The only spark of hope I have is that I graduate next year.

Fairview High School is a leading school, not only in this area, but the state. Students have the opportunity to take classes that best suit their academic needs and future plans - college bound, Honors, Dual Enrollment, AP. Additionally, the vo-tech opportunities are plentiful, and many students also take classes at Erie County Technical School. The teachers care about the students and go above and beyond to ensure their success. There are clubs and teams to cater to every students' talents and hobbies. As a former student and parent to two current students, I would highly recommend the Fairview School District to any prospective student.The 2024 Niche.com school ratings ranked FHS 38th out of 500 PA School Districts. Lots of adult bullying of students. Superintendent and school board members treat parents like lowly subjects instead of taxpayers.

1 star, do not recommend. Administration doesn’t have enough experience or capacity to effectively manage the staff or students. Many students doing poorly in Math especially keystones & science, just look at the recent PSSA scores as evidence. Academics slipping of late, curriculum not as robust or rigorous. Very high taxes with little return in way of quality education. Add to this $50 million remodel for 2 district buildings, majority of which is for this school. Recommend doing your homework on researching this district and looking elsewhere. Very little diversity in staff. Inconsistent discipline from 1 student compared to another. Very little transparency and communication for the newer SEL testing for behavioral and mental health. Non curricular clubs show bias giving some clubs more freedom to advertise and solicit for non profits during lunch and after school if it fits the agenda of the administrators. Basically a top down dysfunctional school.

This is a great school. I feel really at home here and have no complaints. Except for that one racist kid….

I graduated from FHS in 1996 (age 35 now), so I'm twice as old as when I was in high school. Everything that has been written here is true -- outstanding teachers (faculty).. access to excellence in the arts, athletics, and academic co-curriculars...tight-knit student body. Like every school. FHS also has its warts: upper-middle class demographic that can be brutally exclusive to the "not in crowd" or the non-Fairview lifer...limited enrollment size stresses students to have broader shoulders to accomplish what their peers at larger schools do...and in a town struggling to redefine itself after losing the bulk of its local identity (vs. just an outlying Erie suburb). BUT...Fairview is the best school I've ever attended, and that includes both my undergrad and graduate colleges. The small size forces students to interact, know each other intimately, and rely upon each other. The teachers are visible in the community outside of school and families build close relationships with them. The financial security of most of the families in the district provides an atmosphere of purpose to what the students and teachers are there to do. If you can make it at FHS, college really is easy.
