I'm a graduate of Fairview and now send my children there. We had the good fortune to be able to move our family from the city to Fairview because of the quality of the education. The teachers and administration are fantastic. They communicate weekly, if not daily. They are passionate and highly educated. I've never met a parent who wasn't thrilled with Fairview. My son has grown significantly in less than one year. The state scores speak for themselves. If only more disadvantaged kids could attend such a top notch school... My family is so grateful.

They use a one size fits all approach to learning. Teachers complain to parents that there's not enough time because the class sizes are too large! There's a definite lack of diversity since it is 90% white. Communication is horrible. My child received a death threat and the Principal didn't follow up. Then an Assistant Principal stated with 580 students he doesn't have time to follow-up. This district appears to be struggling and needs help. I had to create a plan and suggestions to assist my child as their paid support team was clueless. Each year it becomes more disappointing from Administration, Principals and teachers. I have never had so many people complain about their jobs before to parents. This is sad and it appears they need help.

All my 5 children were influenced and worked to their maximum ability. All of them continued their education and all are professionals.

School is the worst if you have a child that is special needs... I can't even elaborate without becoming angry. Let's say that if your child is not excelling in sports and academics and has a learning disability then you won't fit in at Fairview. And the ratio is too high 26:1 at this time....many parents unhappy with this.

That review is totally off the wall and could not be further from wrong. There is racial diversity in Fairview and there is most certainly financial diversity...one only has to look at the number of free and discount lunches that have increased in the last five years. Please if you have some issue with the school please go in and speak with the principal of your school and discuss it. Please do not make a broad stroke assumption online.

We've had a very good experience with this school. The principal is top notch and responsive, and the parents are generally involved. The administration is clearly proud of the school's test scores, and you do feel the test focus here, but yet there's generally enough fun in the curriculum to keep most students happy. I think it speaks volumes that the principal and many of the teachers have their own children attending the school.

We could not be happier with the quality of education and educators at Fairview. All of the staff, including the principal and specialists are wonderful. They are professional, hold high standards, and maintain a very positive and nurturing environment where the kids have a lot of fun. You can't beat the school. Most parents are as happy as we are and the kids just love it. I really don't know of anyone that isn't generally pleased with this school. There are always so much going on for the kids to do in and out of school. I read the review from March 25, 2009 and am totally perplexed by this parent's opinion. If you have an issue-they deal with it. We wouldn't send our kids anywhere else-public or private.
