I moved my children to AOLG after an awful experience in public school at a neighboring town. We have been really happy with their experience thus far--the community at AOLG is really supportive. My children are challenged and motivated. Naturally in any school some of the teachers will have different personalities, but any issue we've had has been promptly addressed by administration. Really glad we made this choice

Do not send your kids here unless you want to shell out additional money for books, events, supplies, and also years of therapy for your kid.

The absolute worst experience my child ever had was attending kindergarten at this school. This particular teacher was painfully obviously worn out and teaching five year olds during the pandemic (2020), was not something she should have signed up for. She yelled, she was aggressive, wrote me complaint letters every single day, questioned if my son’s prescription glasses were actually needed and so on. She dimmed his light and took the joy he had of wanting to learn away from him. Complaints to the principal fell on deaf ears. She simply was an advocate for the teacher and then tried to gaslight us into thinking there was something going on at home. The best decision we ever made was leaving this school. I can say that the preschool teachers were great.

Overall, we are pleased with our decision to send our children to AOLG. For the last three years, we have seen our children grow, flourish and truly develop a love for learning and their school. The Principal, Mrs. D'Amico, really tries to create a safe, positive and fun environment for the students through her staff. We have had great teachers from Pre-K thourgh fourth grade. The activities are non-stop so the children always have something to look forward to at school. The kids are also enjoying the lunch program they added this year through simply gourmet lunches since we do not need to worry about packing a lunch each day. Academically, we feel our children are being challenged and the teachers are responsive and address any concerns. We also like the diversity among the student population. Lastly, tuition is very reasonable and the school does hold numerous fundraisers to help off-set the cost of providing a top-notch education along with afterschool activies which do fill up quickly. If you are looking for a great alternative to public schools in upper Hudson or southeastern Bergen Counties, AOLG is worth a try!

Absolutely happy with Our Lady of Grace. The education, the faculty and the old time family atmosphere are something that seems lacking in today's hectic society.

I am actually very dissappointed with this school. It seems like a family run business where you work here if you know someone instead of your qualifications. Also, lunchtime is 15 minutes for sometimes 4 classes leaving students so swallow their food whole before they are forced to line up 5 minutes before their 15 minute lunch is over. The principals family goes to this school and it seems like they get pulled out of class and receive preferential treatment which does not look good especially if the students notice the favoritism that goes on. I don't believe they have a good curriculum. My child went their for pre k3 and came home with a worksheet for homework every day. If you know about child development a worksheet at the age of three is the last way they need to learn, it's more about interactive play. Very disappointed with this school

I would rate it 4-5 stars bc it's one of the only schools I've gone to but also has taught me about respect, courage, care, and compassion and I believe there is no school better

AOLG is an average school. If your child is average, I would recommend this school. While I don't have a lot of experience with Catholic schools, I think this one offers as much of a religious grounding as you could hope for. If you expect any opportunities for your child to separate himself from the crowd academically, you should look for another choice. AOLG is a safe environment and superior to the Fairview schools but I could never say it's great.

my daughter goes to this school, my wife and myself could not be happier. she is above average in reading ,math, and spelling, they have everything a parent can hope for in a school and more. how do you put a price for a great education for your child.

I sent my twin boys to this school because of the price and the connection to the church. I withdrew them for several reasons. First of all, my husband was pulled in at the end of the day for an unexpected meeting regarding my sons. Basically, the teacher said that my sons had to spend all their time with an aide because unless they were being "entertained" they distracted the learning of the other students. While that might be true, no documentation was ever provided. I was sent a note home everyday and there was no mention of this issue. I was disappointed that they did not invite both parents, and that no meeting time was set-up in advance. I am a teacher, and I always contact a parent to set up a meeting if there is a major issue that needs to be discussed. Also, they expect children under the age of two to sit for extended periods of time. If you have an active child, this is not the place for you! Additionally, we were told to drop off the children at 7:40, but they were late everyday, and did not open the doors until 7:50. It is a private school who can pick and choose students. If your child does not fit the mold, then you can expect that they will try to make you leave.

I cannot comment on the current state of OLG but I can say that I am from one of the first graduating classes back in 1971 & its first basketball team. I attended from 1963-1971 and went on to Saint Joseph's of the Palisades in WNY. Then onto FDU where I received a BS in Business Management and an MBA in Marketing. I went on to a successful career at AT&T for over 30 years and I have since been involved with a few other exciting business opportunities. I look back on my years at OLG with such great memories. Without a doubt I received a strong educational foundation. The years I attended the country was in turmoil, in first grade JFK was assassinated, 6 years later a man landed on the moon, and during my years there, the Viet Nam War was fought. Through it all, we were nurtured with caring and engaging teachers overlayed in a spiritual and religious environment. Maintaining excellence over many years is challenging. The parents input is critical and the staff must be open to criticism and change in order to make the adjustments to stay on a path of excellence. I feel an alternative to public education is necessary.OLG served me well; I hope it continues to do the same for others.

Excellent school. It has become one of the best in Bergen County. It offers more activities for both parents and students than any other.

I have been a student at OLG for 5 years and they have all been great. At OLG I have made friendships that will last a long time and have learned a lot from the great teachers. I love how the school has so many great activities that I can participate in. I will always be grateful to all the teachers and everyone at OLG for being so nice and helping me to reach my full potential . GO ROYALS VOLLEYBALL!!!!!

The Vice Principal DID NOT WRITE that herself. She has better things to do to run a school. I a parent wrote it and everywhere people talk, if they don't like it there are plenty other schools. My sons have been there since grade K and will stay until Grade 8. I like the whole staff they are good to my children.

That review on April 2011 was probably written by the vice principal herself, I have not heard a single parent talking positively about her.
