doesn't seem to offer any services on a daily basis for special ed. I don't see any classes for special ed. would be nice to see that I want to send my 5 year old here who has autism spectrum. but my aba therapist said they don't offer special ed classes.she could work with a tss worker if the teacher was comfortable but im afraid that he might be singled out and bullied because kids wouldn't understand . does anyone know of any kids that go there and have learning disability ?

I am a teacher in this school and was moved here after the school I was teaching in was closed. I am and continue to be so very happy here at Wyoming Area Catholic for all the many opportunities offered to the students, and parents and teachers. It truly offers top notch academics in a small school setting. Our school is a "family" and we continue to foster the love of Jesus in all we do.

When you decide to send your child to a private school there are certain things you EXPECT; even more so in a small school! You expect to be able to provide input and participate in committees and groups. Not at WAC. At WAC, a small group of "connected" parents are ALWAYS the ones chosen as homeroom parents, to chaperone trips, to run and organize committees and participate in activities at the school. It's always the same people, the same little "clique" that is in charge like a small elitist group that doesn't allow anyone else to get involved or be in charge. Likewise "some" students get away with murder, while others are punished for the slightest infraction. At over $4000 a year in tuition, this is simply unacceptable. As a result, our son will be moving to Good Shepherd Academy this Fall. Don't get me wrong. Our son started at WAC in kindergarten and has been there for five years and fortunately, HIS TEACHERS HAVE BEEN DEDICATED AND EXCELLENT AT EVERY GRADE LEVEL! Spiritually and academically WAC is a solid Catholic School; but a school is much more than just academics. When our son started WAC was a great school. Today it's expensive and average at best!

My daughter attended this school for one year and what a waste of a year it was. They are packing the children into a school that is to small to accommodate such large class sizes. There is also very little focus on the arts. The music class was held in a closet. Yes a closet!!! The teachers, with the exception of Mrs B. (Pre K or Kindergarten teacher), are nothing special. There are also children being bullied and tormented and nothing is done about it by the teachers or the principal. The most obvious problem is a handful of parents trying to be elite. This is NOT a private school, but a Catholic school. There is a tremendous diffence between the two but somewhere in these parents thinking it's a private, elite school. Far from it. If these parents were elite their children would be at SEM. My daughter gained nothing from her year at this horrible school and we have since left for a well known and respected "PRIVATE" school (not a Catholic school) and couldn't be happier. If you are thinking about sending your child to a Catholic school Saint Nicks in Wilkes-Barre is definitely a much better choice.

It is still a top notch school with its dedicated faculty and Christian morals. My child is doing wonderful academically.

Sadly, this wonderful school has hit bottom with it's new leadership. Problems begin at the top and work down. It no longer functions like a top notch private school as it did when Mr. Kilino was principal. All the advances that were made are now gone. It's a shame.

Teachers and principal are excellent. The school has a lot of positive reinforsement and special help for students who are in need. Wonderful extra activities are planned for the students.
