The best school I have ever experienced. Often times you won't see teachers leaving the school until 8 at night working on curriculum. The principal is FANTASTIC, she genuinely loves the students and knows most of the students by name. This school goes above and beyond to ensure that each student has supplies to get work done even if the child can't afford them they always ensure that each student has enough. The staff is involved with the families and ensures that Dan Powell is a place where kids can feel safe, and comfortable to try and excel. I don't think anyone could run the school better than Mya Asberry, these kids are getting the absolute best you would not know from the scores, the curriculum or the teachers that this was a title I school. GREAT JOB DAN POWELL!

Based on previous experience, my child went to this school and did not have a good memories to remember but he counted 79 times in one day the teacher said "be quiet" because the class are not attentive and disrupted the class. If you are low income like me and your child is not on the A+ Class, you just have to endure this kind of environment. If one child messed up, The class remained doing nothing until the bell rings even in the PE Class that my child enjoyed . Hoping this kind of punishment changed and the teacher was gone.
