This school has gone above and beyond in letting me down with regards to my sophomore aged child. Reading or writing? Grammar? Not important here. Attitude problems. Breaking the law? They don't even follow their own posted policies. They let the kids run around campus at all hours during the school day. Bring a weapon on campus and barely give them a talking to. Wanna drink, smoke and do drugs on campus during school hours? This is the school for you. Don't want to come to class? For an entire quarter? No worries. You're still enrolled and we won't discipline you either. No. I would not recommend this school if you have any type of issue whatsoever with your child. If your child wants to learn. Is a go-getter. Self motivated and want's to excel, then I'm sure they'd do great at this or any school. Good luck!

Overly simple, many teachers do not meet standards. Very few electives and even fewer spare funds.Low income area.

Eureka High School offers an excellent band program, over 15 AP and honors classes, career pathways and a huge variety of art and Career Technical Education programs. Their sports department is also excellent. If you want your son or daughter to succeed in being prepared for college and beyond you won't go wrong with sending them here. The teachers go above and beyond to not only teach the material required to graduate, but they teach it in a way that is fun and memorable for the students.

My daughter entered her Freshman year at this school and after 3 weeks of a nightmare, we pulled her. We had just relocated with the military to Eureka from another CA location, when my daughter was so excited to start her high school years. WOW!! Normally a very lively, fun-spirited, and gracious young lady with good grades quickly became a sullen, depressed and lifeless individual. She gained weight, kept to herself, and began counseling. After finding another school for her to attend, we have our daughter back! There were 342 Freshman last year; however, 4 of them landed up transferring to North Coast Learning Academy School in Cutten. Thank you NCLA!!!
