How often can your child get through middle school/junior high and say they were the best years of her life! That was my child’s experience!

Do not go here if you value your mental health. The teachers and administrators only care about the school's reputation, not the students. The assistant principal has no concept of what teenagers are like, the kids are awful to be around, and there's a cockroach problem. They also have police officers at the school, yeah I totally trust them to peacefully deescalate a situation. The only good thing about this school is a few of the teachers and some clubs

Central has every program available in the district, (Drone and robotics STEM programs, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Arabic, band, & orchestra. Both our daughters attended after they left Viridian. Not being from the area I heard stories about it being a rough school, in comparison to where I grew up, there are no rough areas in Hurst, Euless, or Bedford. What I found out as I visited the school is that it has a very diverse student body, sort of like real life, the parents who had negative comments never had children attend yet they were basing their opinion on the fact that the school is surrounded by lower income apartments which again are nothing like what you find in Dallas or Fort Worth. We have been extremely pleased with our daughter's progress as they continue on their path to one becoming an engineer and the other looking to attend the Savannah School of Art & Design. Their time at Central provided a solid foundation for them as they continued into high school.

Central JH has not only been a game changer for my child, but also a life changer. My child struggled with academics from as early as 4th grade. Once I enrolled my child at Central, everything changed. She was possibly going to fail 7th grade. That’s when I enrolled her at Central. Her life has turned around completely in all of the ways. Shes an athlete at Central, she’s motivated, and she’s an A-B student. She has goals, a healthy social life, healthy extra curricular activities to participate in, and this is all because of this school. I can’t speak highly enough about how Central has far surpassed any expectations I could have had on a public school. Kudos, CJH! What a blessing it’s been!

The level of rigor and diversity at this school makes it one of the best. I have a daughter going into her third year here and could not say enough good things about her experience. She is in fine arts, athletics, and advanced classes.

Pretty good school. Pre-AP/AP classes challenge you well to some extents. I loved most of my teachers here, especially as a freshman. Other than the teachers, the rest of the staff was alright. The school itself does need to be revamped though, especially the 9th grade hall and the gym. For the most part I enjoyed cjh.

There's everything you need in a school. Diversity, amazing academic programs, a wonderful administration and much more. I participated in cheer, orchestra, world languages, biology to physics early, and much more.

Central is an awesome school!! I'm a sevy there and most people are really nice to me. The teachers are great too! They're all unique and very helpful. There are a lot of clubs and programs including choir, athletics, band, science club, art club and many more. I love being a student at central, it has a lot of opportunities for every student!! GO SPARTANS!!

Im in 7th grade and so far I hate this school. There are way too many dicipline issues, and the teachers dont even bother to fix them. The staff care little about what you or your kid needs. It's basically just a paycheck to them. Academics is good, athletics is so-so, and their band isn't what they act like it is. I'm working on a transfer to Bedford Junior High right now. By far the worst thing about this school is they way kids act about your race. Everyone bullies you about your race. My best advice to you is DONT GO TO CJH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Most of the teachers are fairly decent teachers, and the school does offer some great programs, like Pre IB and Chinese. But the administration and guidance are very, very rigid and unwilling to work with parents to resolve issues. For high school planning you get 25 minutes with the counselor at a time chosen by them - does not matter if you can make it or not - and you cannot ask questions. High school planning is pretty important but is just a process for the counselors. And if you have a problem - too bad, the Administration does not care.

Most of the teachers at this school are very good teachers. However the office staff is horrible. Everyone from the principle to the attendance clerk are bullies. They do not treat the students or the parents with any kind of respect. I have sent 3 kids to this school and I have hated every year of it. Anytime one of my children have had a problem, I have been treated as though they do not care. I hate this school and if I did not HAVE to send my child there I wouldn't.

This school has made great strides to reaching children's full potential and strengthening core knowledge for children's future high school and college careers. However, the current pricipal of this school is absolutely inadequate and appauling in the face of concerned parents and staff. He has a pre-biased opinion over students and especially his staff, as well as he is very quick to voice this opinion in an unprofessional manor. This school has too much potential to continue being led by such an inadequate leader.
